For this theme I found an old copper pipe that was in the garage and used a pipe cutter to cut into it just a little,I then bent it so it would rip.It was then placed in a tray and water was poured in at one end and as the water started coming out I took the photo.

The term Pipe Dream was coined in the late 19th century to describe unrealistic hopes or fantasies as the result of hallucinatory visions induced by smoking opium.
The image shows an East Asian water pipe, traditionally used for smoking tobacco, although I see no reason why they couldn't be used for some other form of plant-based material - similar to a hookah but much smaller. I have a number of these little decorative ceramic 'pipes', obtained in Phnom Penh where they are marketed to tourists as opium pipes. Water pipes would have been found alongside opium pipes in the opium dens of old. A small tool needed to scrape out the residue from the used tobacco (or whatever!!) in the bowl is attached to the pipe by a chain, presumably so it doesn't get lost.

The butterflies were once again prevalent at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. This is a pipevine swallowtail butterfly. There were many species of butterflies there, most of which I couldn't identify. I'm no entomologist. Google is an awesome tool though. But I didn't go so far as to ID the ants on the stem and leaf

Great Blue Heron, Sea Pines, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. This Great Blue Heron spent a lot of time inspecting the water coming out of this pipe. He caught a few fish but nothing to write home about. All of a sudden he lost interest and flew away. A few seconds later an Alligator poked his head out of the pipe. Apparently the Alligator had squatters rights.
