Iseli Nursery: Pinus strobus ‘Angel Falls’ originated as a slow-growing seedling of P.s. ‘Pendula’ in 1981 at Iseli Nursery. ‘Angel Falls’ has very long, very narrow, light green needles and a strong weeping habit. Its closely held branches develop graceful draping forms that combine a tall, narrow stature with a broad, flowing skirt. After 20 years of evaluation, the unique tree offers elegance and style and was named after the renowned Venezuelan waterfall.

Whitebark pine is widespread in the Teton Range at the upper elevation including on the high benches and shelve and ledges on rock faces where it co-dominates with subalpine fir (Abies lasiocarpa). During the summer of 2016, the abundant cone crop was apparently produced high in the tree and these were foraged in part by squirrels.

Bought many 2 ft seedings from Coldwater Farms. Have 6 or so along the driveway. White pines grow well in Michigan. The eastern white pine could be the tallest tree in eastern North America (230 ft). Mine are 20 ft. or so after 15 years. There are manys interesting white pine cultivars.
