"Saw it written and I saw it say
Pink moon is on its way
And none of you stand so tall
Pink moon gonna get ye all
And it's a pink moon
Hey it's a pink moon..." Nick Drake: youtu.be/aXnfhnCoOyo
Venture outside on the night of Tuesday, April 7, to catch a glimpse of April’s full Pink Moon. This full Moon—which is a supermoon, the first full Moon of spring, and the Paschal Full Moon—will be visible after sunset and reach peak illumination at 10:35 P.M. EDT.
For the best view of this lovely spring Moon, find an open area and watch as the Moon rises just above the horizon, at which point it will appear its biggest and take on a golden hue!
We’re currently in the midst of a series of supermoons, with the first having occurred on March 9 and the last occurring on May 7. That makes April’s full Moon the second supermoon in this series, but certainly not the one to miss.
Thanks to the fact that April’s full Moon will be closer to Earth than either other supermoon in the series, it will be the biggest and brightest full Moon of 2020!
How big and how bright, exactly? On average, supermoons are about 7% bigger and about 15% brighter than a typical full Moon.
April’s full Moon is the first to occur after the March equinox, which makes it the first full Moon of spring and the Paschal Full Moon. The Paschal Full Moon is the full Moon that determines the date of Easter.
WHY IS IT CALLED THE PINK MOON?
Although we wish this name had to do with the color of the Moon, the reality is not quite as mystical or awe-inspiring. In truth, April’s full Moon often corresponded with the early springtime blooms of a certain wildflower native to eastern North America: Phlox subulata—commonly called creeping phlox or moss phlox—which also went by the name “moss pink.”
Thanks to this seasonal association, this full Moon came to be called the Pink Moon!
Early morning sun casting a pink glow on the snow capped Black Hills of the Ben Ohau range, south Island New Zealand. This shot was taken from the Lake Pukaki canal road.
Another from my 'Pink Pier' set earlier in the year. If all else fails I have a Clevedon sunset - never fails! So lucky to have this on my doorstep - every time I go the conditions are so different and the power of the local tides mean the beach is never quite the same each time as well as the different lighting and the position of the setting sun.

Colorado Springs, CO - Early morning light from sunrise makes the snow covered foothills glow "pink" ...
I processed this image twice; liking it both with and without a crop. Perhaps I'll post the full image later but I really wanted to enlarge this area with the red rocks making them more visible.
Well, this morning my cat woke me up, and so did my sore throat. I went to let the cat out then go back to bed but saw the sky starting to change. I got ready and made a mad dash down to the nearest beach and started snapping. Best sunrise in ages. Stunning morning.
Who doesn't like a pink vintage Thunderbird convertible? Not me - this one made us stop the car so I could jump out and take this photo.
Luckily I never posted it so it was ready for Smile on Saturday Group's "Think Pink!"
This butterfly comes from Costa Rica. Taken at the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory in Cambridge, Ontario.
Thank you for visiting my site and taking the time to leave a comment. Truly appreciated!

Found unexpectedly growing in the car park at Weston Shore - self-seeded maybe?!

Pink, it's my new obsession
Pink, it's not even a question
Pink on the lips of your lover
'Cause pink is the love you discover
Pink as the bing on your cherry
Pink, 'cause you are so very
Pink, it's the color of passion
'Cause today it just goes with the fashion
Pink, it was love at first sight
Yeah, pink, when I turn out the light
And pink gets me high as a kite
And I think everything is going to be alright
No matter what we do tonight
You could be my flamingo
'Cause pink is the new kinda lingo
Pink, like a deco umbrella
It's kink, but you don't ever tell her
Pink, it was love at first sight
Pink, when I turn out the light
Pink gets me high as a kite
And I think everything is going to be alright
No matter what we do tonight
I want to be your lover
I want to wrap you in rubber
As pink as the sheets that we lay on
'Cause pink is my favorite crayon, yeah
Pink, it was love at first sight
Pink, when I turn out the light
Pink, it's like red but not quite
And I think everything is going to be alright
No matter what we do tonight

Every flower should have an Internationally recognized day , and of course it should have a paid holiday for working people !
