This lantern is the type common in Colonial American. Though it was not labeled where this one came from, it is from the correct time period and is very much like the type made by Paul Revere. To bad it has been covered to electricity. Still the effect is lovely.

Cala del Crit in Costa Brava Catalonia at sunrise. At this small cove, about half an hour walking from the parking at Jardins de Cap Roig, erosion of the red and orange rocks has produced many awesome forms and shapes. Tomales Bay and a light fog and mist.

Ansonia, CT Engines 5 and 6 in the bays at Hilltop Hose Company. Both pumpers were built by Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton, WI. Engine 5 is a 1997 Lance and Engine 6 is a 2016 Arrow XT. In a few years, the Lance will be replaced by a new Pierce Enforcer. As with all newer fire apparatus and EPA regulations, the unique sound of a screaming Detroit motor will be phased out for something that sounds like an aircraft. I’ll certainly miss riding the old engine to calls.

While hiking the Tomales Point Trail, I decided to turn around and have a look behind me. It was a good choice. In the distance old Pierce Ranch was resting peacefully along the shore of Tomales Bay on a soft gray velvet morning.

Pierce Point Ranch is one of the oldest ranches on the Point Reyes Peninsula and was one of the most successful dairy ranches of its time.
Now it is just a note in a brochure.
I couldn't resist capturing this moment of the sun piecing through the clouds. It was quite spectacular.
