Sky and I made these super-healthy vegan pies that basically comprised of fruit salad in a crust. They failed, but nobly so.
March 14, 2012: Since I couldn't make the crust earlier in the day (no cream), I used a storebought crust. I used a Pillsbury crust (which I've used before), and it's excellent. It might not be as flavorful as homemade crust (not as creamy), but it has the same texture. I filled the crust with apple slices mixed with brown sugar, sugar, a little flour, cinnamon, and a tiny bit of nutmeg.
my more than slightly inaccurate depiction of 3.141592653589... (1/8 + 1/32 = 0.15625, but I think this is closer to 1/8 + 1/16 ... :))
Obviously, I'm British, so it's 14/3, not 3/14 and so not "pi day" at all, but it seemed like an excuse for bit of geek baking anyway...
