The great thing about EL wire is that it uses very little current. Here are 3 different types; blue wire, a blue disc and pink wire, all hooked up to the Pi via the same driver.

Just got myself a Fuji X-Pro 1 yesterday so still getting used to it and how it works, big difference to my D300.
This is the first shot I have taken with it that hasn't been a test shot, yet its still a test shot in many ways.
Not the best but considering I've only been playing with it for a couple of hours I'm pretty pleased.
