today Max took me to Lake Chiemsee to see a castle on one of the islands of the lake. it was a palace built by King Ludwig and remains incomplete. it was supposed to be a replica of Versailles in France. we endured quite a terrible tour of the castle (even Max could have given a more historically intriguing account!). it was freezing cold this day and we enjoyed a couple of hiesse shokolade to warm ourselves up at the Christmas market on the island of Fraueninsel. as cold as i was, i really enjoyed walking through the falling snow and it was very beautiful to see. we called it a day once it got dark and rushed back to the car as quickly as possible to warm up our frozen hands and toes. we met back up with Sabrina and she took me to the Tollwood winter festival where we indulged in glühwein for the rest of the night.
For the second time this week, my apartment has no hot water. I get really out of sorts if I don't get my daily shower.
This is the FMRI scanner at work, where I had my first experience of being scanned as part of a PhD student's experiment.
My kid sister knows my weaknesses in life...it doesn't even matter if they have crappy messages. 🎵You're the Apple of my eye / cherry pie / oh you're cake and ice cream!

Hundreds of snowdrops in the woods next to our house.
The lady who lives over the stream from us told me that her Uncle planted these when she was a child. She's ~93 now!
(yep, taken yesterday but I've been so busy today!)
Today was a miserable, humid, yucky old day for being outside. The weather tried to rain on and off but the humidity won out - sticky - ewwww LOL The cats took refuge inside as did the kids LOL Here is Aleks petting Portia to sleep on the back of a chair... Even though it is right at the window the light was really poor!! I just love the expression on Aleks face :) He really loves Portia :)
Chad and I took a trip up to NYC this weekend. We primarily went because Albert Huber from ASIJ was performing in a play at the NYC International Fringe Festival. The play was called "Be Brave Anne" and it was lots of fun. We took the opportunity to spend a leisurely weekend in the city. Thanks to Adair for letting us stay wither her again!!! And for all the bagels!!
He's not actually suprised, just scoffing down some toast... Dom's just like his dad, if it's food it must go down super quick in case there's seconds ;) LOL
Mercury and his brother Cobalt are getting on a bit in gerbil years now. While it doesn't show up very well on this photo, Mercs is actually getting kind of brownish-coloured in his old age, rather than his previous silver-black.
365_28 I'm trying out so many different things and styles (purpose of doing 365 for me) that my photo stream has become a mess. Representative of real me would be exhibition and Istanbul shots. You can check appropriate sets if you wish. I made a few greeting cards last night and also this. Day 354 -
Actually forgot to take a photo from my project today, it was my sisters birthday so lucky I took one of her opening her gifts! Would have been crushing to fail a few days before the end haha!!
Ousfg came over to help us clear up some garden waste in time for planting things out in the big veg patch. Also, some of them had been wanting to have an ousfg pajama party, so the events sort of got combined...
Day 210 -
After a few shockingly uninteresting photos recently, I thought I'd try and make an effort tonight. So headed up the top of a hill to do a star trail after promising to do it for 2 weeks...and just my luck it was the first night with clouds in the sky so decided to forget that and just mess about with something else.
