Fix-it-Friday #74 at i heart faces, original photo submitted by Dana Suggs, an IHF contributor. The image is strong, it just need a bit of brightening. First I opened the photo in ACR to correct the exposure and white balance. Then I opened the image in CS4.
Workflow in PS CS4:
~cloned out the pumpkins in the upper left corner to make the edge clean
~added a curves layer set to screen at 30% opacity, masked just on the little girl to brighten her (similar to center fill light)
~ran Noiseware at low opacity
~ran Florabella Luxe's Sweet Sunshine action, lowered to 20% opacity to add warmth
~ran My4Hens Highlight Glow from Toolbox #2, lowered opacity (I love the glowy feel to the highlights!)
~ran Florabella Luxe's Sapphire action with lots of layer tweaking, lowered opacity of group to 65%
~added a subtle (10% opacity) vignette
~high pass sharpening layer set to soft light

Using PS CS4:
~levels adjustment to brighten image and add contrast
~noiseware at low opacity, then used art history brush to paint freckles back in
~curves adjustment layer set to screen, masked, set to 30% opacity, brushed at 20% opacity over eyes to make them sparkle
~hue/saturation adjustment layer to brighten light tones and reduce yellow, masked, set to 30% opacity, painted over teeth
~yellow fill layer at 25% to add a touch of sun haze
~high pass layer to sharpen

I haven't done a FIF in so long! I couldn't resist this perfect autumn photo, it's so cute! First I opened the image in ACR, warmed it up and added a touch of fill. Then in PS CS5:
~Cloned right tire to remove distracting leaf.
~Florabella's Gypsy from the Luxe Collection, individual layers tweaked (reduced dull pop), then lowered overall opacity to 35%. I think this action adds a nice richness for autumn photos.
~Add a pale yellow fill layer set to color and reduced to 15% to a hint of yellow glow.
~Increased saturation by 10.
~Since mom and dad were already blurred a bit in the background, added a texture (to further emphasize kids) at 40% opacity set to overlay and masked 50% off of kids.
~Resized and sharpened for web.

As you may know, I'm too cheap and lazy to go out and buy the latest version of Photoshop. So that's why I'm on the search of finding a web-based alternative to Photoshop that's totally free.
Review: I first turned to Picnik since it's already integrated to Flickr but I went to the actual website to edit. I think I like going to actually website better. It lets me use a few features w/o making me become premium that the Picnik on Flickr doesn't. It's quick and simple. I use the auto-fix button for all my photos anyways. There's also a collage option that's easy to use and offers fast templates so no awkward photo resizing is involved.

I'll be going by the list from one to ten. I guess it's weird that I'm saving the worst for last. Or it might be the best. Idk.
