You like the stripes of three kinds of grayish blue plus white, and you like the yellow awnings. You like the sun angle.

Per G. Streetview the current color scheme is from 2017. Holy shit it used to be beige with orange awnings.

Some kind of parasitic vine is occurring in there also. Its bollards demonstrate their necessity. I want that inelegant bus gone from my tree.

These guys are working on like 6 houses down my street.

They're cool dudes, blast classic rock all day long as they work.

I think it's a very clever company name indeed.

Tom Rooney’s comedy takes its title from the name of a cocktail created by one of its characters; but it’s obvious the playwright intends us to associate the title with the 2 protagonists as well. And they certainly are idiots.

Phil & Carl decide that the ladder to success at the post office is missing a few rungs. So they quit their PO jobs and that very day, before they turn in their uniforms, they sign a 10 year lease on a restaurant in NYC. Backed financially by a huge loan from a mob boss, they are scheduled to open in less than three weeks, and they have already waded through all of the money. They also, for some reason, never lock the doors of their building.

Zippy’s, a popular crosstown hot spot, has been crowded ever since Cy Manamalancia, a notorious mobster, was shot there over 20 years before. WHAT IF SOMEONE COULD BE MURDERED IN THEIR RESTAURANT? What follows is a fast-paced, farce filled with wacky characters & events. Winner of the American Comedy Award.

I love diagonal wooden siding!! The bedquilt-style paintjob will be perfect for this.

Concerts etc are also performed here but I know it mostly from pro wrestling events.

It was originally the Empire Theater. Five of the six letters of "Empire" were rearranged to spell "Prime." According to the Bay Area GIS Viewer it was built in 1947, but elsewhere online it said to have opened in 1948. It operated as a theater until 1979 and later was a nightclub. It became the Prime Event Center in 2008.

Moses, Melchizadek & Aaron by Burlison & Grylls, east window of the south aisle at Newbold c1905.

St Botolph's at Newbold on Avon (now virtually a suburb of Rugby) is one of the more interesting of the historic churches in this part of Warwickshire with a collection of monuments to the Boughton Family of various dates.

The nave and tower date mostly from the 15th century rebuilding but the plain chancel was rebuilt in the early Victorian period. The interior is light with little Victorian stained glass, unusually confined to the nave aisles (three by Heaton, Butler & Bayne on the north side, one by Burlison & Grylls on the south). The main east window is mostly plain.

The monuments are from distinct periods, two 15th century tombs in the south aisle have flat incised slabs with the images of Geoffrey Allesley and John Boughton with their respective wives. Also in the south aisle two wall monuments with small, rather folksy figures carved in relief to two generations of the Boughton family (of Little Lawford Hall). The largest of all is that to William Boughton & wife from 1716, a rather pompous Baroque piece with standing figures that dominates the chancel.

This a church that certainly rewards the visitor but alas is normally kept locked, though there may be keyholder information or phonenumbers given (I called in on Heritage weekend when it was opened and seemed to be recieving a constant flow of visitors).

Turned out my parents not only knew I missed my curfew, they knew by how much.

At midnight, they tried to look up my girlfriend’s parents’ phone number in the phone book, but they couldn’t remember her last name. They didn’t think to call me because this was 1981. The first portable phone was still two years away from being a reality.

At four o’clock they got into Mom’s car and started driving around town, looking for me. When they didn’t find me, they came home, discovered Dad’s car in the garage, the engine still ticking, and decided to blindside me.

Once the shock of seeing my parents on the front stoop had worn off, they grounded me for two weeks. No friends (girl or otherwise), no telephone, no television. It was a death sentence.

To be continued...

I was walking around with my sister-in-law and her family to take some family portraits and we came across this, scrawled in a small structure in a public park. My brother-in-law, who is a cop, pointed it out to me. "You have to get a shot of this."

Special thanks to Ape Flavored for the roll of Kodachrome. I've never used it before. It was 25 ASA; Seattle is very dark.

Baroque monument on the south side of the chancel at Newbold to Sir William Boughton and his wife, the work of John Hunt of Northampton, 1716.

This is an actual working phone number for the Zombie Outbreak and Control Hotline!! You just have to call and report an outbreak! It's hilarious!! Please let me know about your report if you call!!

"If you are calling this number it may already be too late!! To report and outbreak, Press one!"

A mostly 14th/15th century building with a west tower and an unusual double north aisle (the outer one a Gilbert Scott vestry).

It's fairly dark inside with south nave wall and north arcade leaning outwards dramatically (also an odd hollowed out piscina recess in the south east nave window recess). The fittings are mostly Victorian, but the pieces of tracery on the low chancel screen panelling are fragments of the 15th century rood screen.

The stained glass is Victorian too, (east window by Clayton &Bell, the others by Hardmans) but two windows have 14th century elements, the west window in the tower has some fragmentary grisaille and red glass, whilst in the nave clerestorey are two shields of the Earl of Essex.

I'd failed to get inside on two previous visits (including Heritage 'ride & stride') so came armed with phonenumbers but these were in the porch anyway. Got through to the very pleasant churchwarden who was most amiable and promptly arrived in person and showed me around inside; He didn't have too long so, not wanting to keep him waiting, my snaps are a little rushed, but I'm pleased to have got in at last.

Wheeling, W.Va. ( Woodsdale ).

An "Ice Pick" was used to break and/or chip large blocks of ice.

Before modern day refrigeration Wheeling, W.Va. residence kept their food cold in an Ice Box. The cold came from a large block of ice placed in a dedicated compartment of the Ice Box. Food was stored in another compartment.

On my birthday two years ago (when I was feeling depressed about getting older, as usual) I ran into a group of Lacoste models in the park. They were so much fun, and they convinced me to join on their trampoline-jumping fun. I had completely forgotten about the experience until I found this scrap of paper. Awww models.

I'm usually wary of taking pictures of fortune tellers...they're very private people.

So I tried to be discreet when taking this shot and the following shot of the neon sign in the background. (Here, it's only a bright orb, shaped like a donut.) The fortune teller did notice me. However, instead of chastising me using the microphone in her hand, she smiled instead. How lovely! I was so surprised...

Perhaps she saw that my future is bright.... :~>
