After 60 years of operation (1955-2012), the White Cross Drugs store will be closing at the end of the month. The pharmacy portion closed earlier in the month, and the store portion, as mentioned will close at the end of the month. Tiffany's Cafe which is in the same building as White Cross plans to stay open.
A unique combination of a business card on one side and an acquaintance card on the other.
For another two-sided example, see Acquaintance Compliments with Confidence and Respect, which has a name—like a calling card—on one side and the text of an acquaintance card on the other.
For information regarding my book of detachable acquaintance cards, see my Flickr profile page. For more cards, see my Flickr album of Acquaintance Cards.

One thing that I've noticed in my travels around small town America is that in the smaller towns and cities you find bulletin boards in the entry ways of restaurants and gas station These are where you see business cards and ads for help wanted or even postings for pets for sale
This is the first time I've ever seen a plea for an organ donation. I hope whomever needs a kidney gets one, Unfortunately I'm not this person's blood type. I am however on the organ donor list and I have been since I was 16 years old.
I've notified my family that if something happens to me I would like to donate my organs. I wont be needing them and I figure that if somebody can use them I would be more than happy to donate

WOW a sign of life from at last. I have have so out of touch from the flickr world lately and it was quite scary.
Combination of a lot of things: I have been sick for nearly 2.5 weeks and still coughing my lungs out but getting better, looking for more inspiration and quite honestly I haven't picked up the camera in about 3 weeks. My goodness.
I have been busy some digital scrapbooking and having loads of fun. My allowance is now going towards buying some digital scrapbookoing elements instead of actions.
Anyway I will be around but taking things slowly.

Unedited shot of a lady on the Leidsestraat in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. Taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)
I am not sure why there are still puddles in the best city in the world, it did not rain for weeks now and by all laws of nature, I should not be able to find any wet spots at all, but there it is, a bit milky, but usable...maybe some city cow had an accident and spilled some of her precious liquid, or somebody dropped his pack of Coke into a regular puddle or something...who cares, as long as it's wet, it's good :)
Have a wicked Friday!
P.s. I just got a call from a number I didn't recognize and it was this really oooold, polite and sweet sounding guy, saying he had one of my Pigeons (!!!)...I asked him to repeat that but he still said that he had one of my Pigeons and that it had my phonenumber with it. I asked him to read it out to me and it was indeed my number, that I've had for at least 10 years now...am I secretly leading another life as an evil Pigeon Overlord, so secret that even I don't know about it?! Wicked shizzle, this call made my day :D
P.p.s. I do not have and never had Pigeons, I think they are rats with wings :)
I've also made a wicked movie of this puddle reflection, view it on my YouTube page :)

This is the Golden Gate Bridge. No, I did not take this photo. Now, what number should one call to get the counseling to keep them from making the plunge?
Those of us who left our hearts here back in the 60s have gone back to get them.
Would you like to be in a coffee shop discussing Plato and see somebody spill hot brew on their naked laps. The shrill of their screams would be deafening, huh? Huh? What?

When they're thinking especially hard about your case, they take their glasses off. I never want to see any of those "AVAILABLE" plastic-wraps covering those two up, alright?
When you need to keep burglars out of your office, you had maybe ought to think of Dusty Rose as a color for the grilles you put over your doors, like Asberom & Brown do.

THE INDISCRETION

They gathered at the same time every day on the station platform though never realized until that chance meeting that sparked a conversation, nurtured a sensuous tingle up and down her spine, an opportunity once more to flirt and laugh, eyes that looked within her soul, not through her with the indifference of the one who once loved her so. Whoever would have thought that Waterloo East and the journey down to the law courts would become so appealing?
The years of neglect have taken their toll on her fragile ego and shattered confidence. A husband who tolerates rather than cherishes, a preference for the golf club over candlelit dinner for two, a place at the pub with his monikered pewter pint pot hanging over the bar, a seat assured and the adoration of those around him whilst she waits at home filling empty time now that the children have long since flown the coop.
If he was equally adept and accomplished at pushing 'her' buttons as opposed to those on his infernal Play Station console, he'd surely realize that his lonely wife now feels within in a loveless marriage playing out for the benefit of the family, a façade of sorts now second nature and hard to break.
Life has become a monotonous routine for her. The face in the mirror looks back and cries, laughter lines replaced by a frown, those sultry eyes now saddened without the sparkle that once graced them, and a longing to be loved and needed as she once was, to feel the skin of another close to hers and to be held in loving arms that have been absent for so many years. And yet that glimmer of hope has raised it's little head above the precipice of tedium during the train journey down from Brighton to London three times a week. Handsome looks, a gentle smile, the soft touch of skin as boundaries are slowly crossed and a regular seat is saved for the company of a stranger who pays her more attention in those few hours than her husband has these past few years. The sound of laughter now permeates her conversations, and there is a bounce in her step, a warmth to her smile, previously so lacking.
When the day comes she is nervous like a child once more, a knot in the very pit of her stomach, a chill to her goose pimpled flesh, is she making a mistake, a fool of herself perhaps, she knows it is wrong and yet it feels so deliciously right. Reaching into her handbag she retreives the item and hand shaking like a fool, she brings it into the dull carriage light. "Call me", says the note on the tiny slip of white paper, a heart underlined along with the telephone number she hopes he'll use as she pushes it gently across the aged wooden table and rises to her feet as the station platform glides into view.
The train grinds to a halt and she so desires to turn and smile, but remains steadfast, disembarking onto the platform as the doors open and the other occupants clamour to make good their exit, a plethora of locations to scamper away to. She walks slowly down the platform, letting the herd pass her by, heading towards the exit barriers where she will swipe her Oyster card and head to the Law courts, the train now gradually pulling past her. She pushes her hair over her ear with her right hand as the carriages pass by, hopeful, contemplative, nervous. Is he watching her as he heads onwards to his final destination? Has he placed the note into his wallet to use later on? Will he phone?
She knows he will

Don't you dare phone the # unless you're ready to get sucked into some stranger's tornado of personal woe. I heard a rumour that I might be lookin for a new place to live on account of the new depression but I said, "My shoes ain't gonna be touchin any part of that big porch til the mattress gets moved off it."
I said, "I don't care how nicely-appointed otherwise the exterior grounds are." And then I poured myself a glass of Vault and I sat right down and fanned myself with a newspaper — in my own apartment, which I ain't never gonna get kicked out of. I was dressed in a thin cotton duster and I told the movers not to look at me unless they wanted to glimpse my genitals. I was just about getting ready to call the police!
