My cell-phone displayed the receipt from a lady yesterday. I thought that it might be some kind of invitations, and I beat fast. However, unfortunately it was a wrong call.

Okay, here's the story, in 150 words.
I love New York, but winters here are bland, brutal, and colorless. This winter was particularly miserable; the bitter winds, perpetual snow, and general absence of light crushed any hope I had of ever again seeing Spring, unbundled humanity, or--most importantly--color. The day I shot this photo was unusually warm, though, and the snowdrifts began to melt, exposing all sorts of garish clutter. It was the the first day in weeks that I had seen anybody out in the street, and as I approached the end of Orchard Street I saw this girl, a worker from a nearby store, with her bright pink suede boots resting just at the edge of a retreating mound of snow. It was like a celebration, and it was this day, maybe just this shot, that I kept remembering as winter dragged on into April and I finally got all my color back.
A look at the red phonebox In the charming Yorkshire village of Arncliffe. Again this Is another example which Is disconnected although I don't suspect that this one will be removed. Jan 20 2016.
A pair of red phoneboxes on High St Edgware North London.
Aside from the writing being on the phoneboxes, the writing must be "on the wall" for this pair as they are not In the best of health. I very much doubt If they are In working order as I didn't look Inside them.
These phoneboxes are situated about 5 minuites walk from where British comedy actor Sid James used to live, who starred In some of the Carry On films and the 1970s sitcom Bless this House.
I wonder If he ever had cause to use these boxes back In the day.

A couple of views of the red phonebox at Bridge End on the Isle of West Burra which Is linked to the Mainland Shetland by two bridges.
This one Is missing It's door but Is still working. This phonebox occupies a lofty position and can be seen from quite a distance away.

The Red Phonebox at a location called Rackwick which Is on the Isle of Hoy, Orkney.
Situated at the end of a bumpy single track road off the B9047 this Is another one of Scotlands remote phoneboxes.
As the sign says It Is not In working order and Is awaiting It's next use If any. Maybe Rackwick Hostel will adopt It.

This phonebox Is still working despite the fact that It Is In an out of the way location.
Been to HK a few times over the span of 6 yrs, and I have this impression (or deja vu) that these chairs have always been here at this exact location.

This box stands outside the former post office which Is currently being renovated Into a bed and breakfast and will be ready In 2017, as the owner was telling me.
The phonebox Is a listed grade 2 building and It will not be removed.

Beijing has the most unusual phone booths that look like a cross between hair dryers and some kind of alien pod. Answering the phone seems to have odd consequences.

It Is just after 8 am and Is not yet fully light which Is why I used a flash. Only half an hour before I had just got off the North Link ferry.
This one Is still working.

Not one of the most scenic photos of a red phonebox In Scotland.
It would seem that the children that live In the adjoining house have taken It upon themselves to systematically strip this phonebox of all It's fittings and fixtures, Including prying open the money box.
I would expect vandalism on this scale to happen In a city center or rough housing estate and not along a country road In the middle of nowhere.
I don't think I need to point out that this phonebox Is not In working order.
Anybody who enjoys photographing red phoneboxes, then I would put this one at the top of your list as It probably won't exist much longer.

I'll admit it was a bit annoying flying from one end of the city to another just to answer a payphone, but I'd do it all again.
The red phonebox at Beer Head caravan park In Devon.
I thought that this phonebox had been put here and was originally sited elsewhere, but the owner of the site told me that this phonebox has been here since 1955 and was converted Into a fishtank in 2015.
The fishtank Is actually a tank Inside the box and Is well stocked with cold water fish, plants and water filtration system. The owner told me that he got the Idea from a red phonebox in the Lake District outside a pub which has been converted Into a fishtank, so when the phonebox at the caravan park was decommissioned he set about converting It.

This one is set back off the main A964 road down a dirt track, It Is not shown on the OS maps and Is just a empty shell. It Is visible from the main A964 road.

This phonebox could be a contender for the furthest North red phonebox on Mainland UK.

The other red phonebox on Easdale Island Is this one just a standard K6 box which Is situated behind Easdale Island folk museum.
I'm not sure If this phonebox has always been here or If It has been purchased by somebody and positioned here. There Is no phone Inside and as you can see Is locked shut by plastic tape.
