McLaren P1 in petrol green

A pair of Avery Hardoll petrol pumps tucked in a car showroom in Southwell. As well as the fairly modern Bentley there were classic cars for sale. I thought the pumps must have been added for effect but a photo in Street View shows the pumps stored there when it was a MOT testing centre but with old paintwork. Closer inspection shows two swing arms for hoses to stretch over the pavement for kerbside refueling

I did not need to touch her picture - she is magical all by herself ♡

The petrol pumps from Lofoten make a reappearance, they had to at some point plus as its a lockdown photography has rightfully taken a back burner.

Photo 100!! Only 256 left :$

I went for a 10 miles walk along the river to a place called Tewksbury, it was such a lovely day and I took lots of pictures. I walked straight past this guy until my dad called me back and there were so many of these leaf beetles (Gastrophysa Viridula) just waiting to be photographed :)

Yesterday I passed 33,333 views which may not sound like a lot to most people but before I started my 365 project (01/01/10) I had been on flickr over a year and had less than 1,000 views, so I'm pleased :)

Also....Yesterday was the 9th of april (09/04) and I uploaded my day 99 Photo which got me my 14th explore :D (4, 9 and 14 being my lucky/fave numbers)

My sincere thanks to Bas Richardson ( www.flickr.com/photos/bazrichardson/ ) for sending me this excellent picture of this interesting old garage or filling station that he recorded from somewhere in the Yorkshire, England area. I suggest everyone visit Baz’s photostream. He’s a superb photographer and a very good chap. His pictures, recorded from scenic areas all over England are wonderful and his back story information reads like a very informative travelogue.

The foreground subject

You might have seen this car before on my photostream. I had posted a piece of artwork featuring this 1959 BT7 3000 Austin Healey some time ago ( flic.kr/p/pEZzHL ).

In this depiction, the owner, a friend of our family is standing by his car. Somewhat precariously with the car sitting on the roadway but it’s a quiet area (and in my composites, everything is always safe and secure ;)

You might also recognize the ubiquitous service man standing in the picture. In this scene, he’s an English chap who either works at or owns this Q8 filling station.

Hope you enjoy mates (and ladies) ………………………

Well its that time of year - to search the darkroom for lost/misplaced rolls of exposed but undeveloped film and soup them.

A guess is the camera was either an Olympus 35RC or 35RD, my two favourite walk-around cameras, and exposed in the Spring.

What is certain: Iford HP5+ developed in Barry Thornton'a A-B developer, 4.5 minutes each bath.

Pensarnau petrol station near Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire.

I took these photos for a historical record as the then-owner told me that he had sold the site. The new owner apparently had plans for redevelopment. To date, it's still much the same.

Date taken: 21st June 2021.

Location: Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire.

An abandoned gas station near where Interstates 40 and 15 diverge. Yermo is probably best known for Peggy Sue's '50s Diner and a stopping point for military heading to/from the US Army base at Fort Irwin, US Marine Corps Base at 29 Palms or Edwards Air Force base. Here, military equipment is loaded on and off trains. Yermo is located on what was the former Arrowhead Trail, later U.S. Route 91, several miles north of Route 66, the nation’s first year-round highway linking Chicago to Los Angeles, prompting the migration out West, escaping the Dust Bowl of the 1930s. Much of the homes and businesses along Route 66 dried up in the 1950s when the highway system, including Interstate 40, were built, bypassing "The Mother Road". This was part of a quick two-night trip to photograph an auto salvage yard and Route 66 near Barstow, avoiding people the whole way due to the coronavirus. I added some illumination with my trusty ProtoMachines LED2 light painting device during the exposure.

I have been wanting to photograph this abandoned garage for some time. Finally got there with right light. Trying HDR, vignetting and sepia with PS and Lightroom plugins.

On a dusty unpaved street in the small opal mining town of White Cliffs New South Wales, this derelict petrol pump stands guard over what was once a general store and service station.
