Strip search Pastors strip to expose refugees as people
Eight Church leaders faced court in Perth this morning. The group pleaded guilty and were given a spent conviction with three month conditional release (they cannot be charged or convicted of an offence in that time). Following a court hearing in Perth this morning 5 Christian leaders have stripped to just their undergarments and placards reading “Refugees are People” and are currently walking from Perth Court to Foreign Minister Julie Bishop’s Subiaco office, calling for the release of the 135 children currently locked-up on Nauru and for an end to offshore detention.
“Attempts to humiliate and deter us have failed and we are more determined than ever to see the dignity of people in immigration detention recognised,” said Pastor Jarrod McKenna of WestCity Church of Christ.
“For those who seek to deter us we have a simple message: at the centre of our faith is a symbol of torture that God transformed into a symbol of love. There is nothing you can throw at us that we can’t see transformed for the freedom of others,” said Pastor McKenna.
This action comes after eight Christian leaders faced Perth court earlier this morning over a peaceful sit-in last month at the office of Foreign Minister Julie Bishop. The eight Christian leaders were arrested, strip searched and charged with trespass on 10 December 2014 after the peaceful sit-in which was part of the #LoveMakesAWay national day of action. Love Makes a Way is a national movement of Christians seeking an end to Australia's inhumane asylum seeker policies through prayer and nonviolent love in action.
“The Human Rights Law Centre described the strip-searches of peaceful protesters as ‘deeply concerning’,” said Pastor McKenna.
“Instead of strip searching Church leaders our nation needs to be searching its heart for a humane response to those seeking safety,” he said.
“Even if you strip-search us, even if you make us squat and cough, even if you threaten us, we will not stop fighting for freedom of all people in detention. We believe that love makes a way,” said Teresa Lee, co-founder of First Home Project who faced court earlier today after participating in the peaceful sit-in last month.
“Refugees are people, it is as simple as that. All people deserve to have a safe home and not one of the 1930 people currently locked up in detention deserve to have their future frozen indefinitely,” she said.
“Today we call on the Government to make a public commitment to release the 135 children currently imprisoned on Nauru. These children have been cruelly shipped off, locked-up, and left in limbo, deprived of their precious childhoods,” said Reverend Lorna Green, Anglican Rector of Serpentine-Jarrahdale who also faced court earlier today.
“We say to these children and all those people locked up on Manus Island and Nauru: we see you and we won’t give up on you,” said Pastor Alex McKellar from WA’s largest church, Riverview, also among the eight who faced court for the December action at the Foreign Minister's office.

Perhaps more than in most UK stations now, this still seems as if steam locomotives naturally belong there.

Opening in 1974 and closing in 2002 the Perth Entertainment Centre was for many years the largest concert venue in the city (seating 8,003). It holds the record for "the largest purpose built regular theatre (containing a proscenium arch) in the world". It's been locked up and unused for 8 years and is soon to be demolished as part of the Northbridge Link project.

The upper portion of the building may be deco too, or perhaps a bit later. The windows have been poked out, whatever.
Perth station was opened (as Perth General) by the Scottish Central Railway in 1848 and was, designed by Sir William Tite. The station currently has 7 platforms split into two distinct sections. Platforms 1 and 2 sit on the eastern side (the old Dundee & Perth Railway part of the station) and are the busiest in the station due to them handling the Glasgow to Dundee and Aberdeen trains.
The remainder of the platforms (3–7) sit under the main train shed, the former HR/SMJR platforms once used by the Coupar Angus main line as well as services to the Highlands. Platforms 3–7 now are used only by terminating trains from the Edinburgh direction and around a dozen trains per day each way on the Highland Main Line.
The movie The Railway Man was filmed at Perth station posing as Crewe during the 1960s. Perth station was nominated the Carbuncle Award in 2015, which recognizes the worst planning decision. The award was due to the fact a new footbridge had to be built at the southern end of the station which has stair and lift access to all platforms to comply with disability laws

Physiotherapy Perth mattresses are loaded with sufferers who dropped, burnt off, cut, diseased or harmed themselves due to risky methods. In many cases these injuries could have been prevented if the individuals were aware of and applied proper protection methods. Of significant issue is the fact that injuries also happen in medical centers and assisted living facilities.
