Perth Shed appeared to be a diesel only depot during a visit on 5th April 1967 , but to our surprise there were still three Black 5's tucked away at the back. 44794 being among them. A short lived North British shares the next road. Britannia Class No. 70022 'Tornado' was seen in steam out front the following morning as we left Perth.

Ex-Caledonian 2P 0-4-4 Tank 55204 is stored on 63A Perth Shed on Wednesday 19 August 1964. It had been withdrawn in December 1962!

This accident took place on the Perth Road just past the junction of Shepherds Loan on 29th May 1951. The lorry belonged to Tulloch and Strachan and was carrying workmen and concrete blocks. 13 people were injured including the lorry driver, the tram conductor, the tram driver, one workman and 7 tram passengers. Luckily there were no serious injuries.

 

The vehicle in the background is an ambulance.

Pictures from Perth and in and around the grounds of scone palace. The palace is most famous for having been the location where all the kings of Scotland were crowned and where the Stone of destiny was kept before it was taken by Edward 1st and put in westminster abby and there after all the future monarchs of Scotland and England were crowned
