Perth Bridge (also known as Smeaton's Bridge, locally, the Old Bridge and in the local dialect of Scots, "the Auld Brig") is a toll-free bridge in the city of Perth, Scotland. It spans the River Tay, connecting Perth, on the eastern side of the river, to Bridgend, on its western side, carrying both automotive and pedestrian traffic of West Bridge Street (the A85). It is a Category A listed structure. [1]
The bridge was completed in October 1771,[2][3] which places it in the Georgian era; however, its plaque states the year in which construction began, 1766, as its "built" date. The engineer of its construction was John Smeaton, after whom the bridge is named.
In the mid-1960's Riddles Britannia 70005 John Milton is stabled at the front of Perth Shed (63A). At this time many of the class were allocated to Carlisle Kingmoor (12A) and frequently worked through to Glasgow and Perth. The loco was allocated to Carlisle in October 1964 and was withdrawn from the shed in July 1967, being dismantled at the yard of Campbells (Airdrie).

Capture of the the river Tay flowing through Perth as the sun sets, casting a golden light over the trees and mirroring them in the water.
I shot this scene on my recent trip to Perth, Australia. To grab the reflections I had my tripod legs spread wide and half in the water waterline.
This is a composite of two images. The first taken at f/8 & 15sec, the second at f/8 & 3sec. The shorter exposure is blended over the longer in Photoshop with an opacity of 30%.
