This was the final weekday running of this service commencing at Perth before the May timetable change saw this service begin at Kingussie.
Kinkora, Perth East, Perth County, Ontario. Part of the tower and steeple was recently rebuilt . The church was built in 1882 to serve a rural community with predominantly Irish ancestry. It is the work of noted Ontario ecclesiastical architect Joseph Connolly in the style of High Victorian Gothic. Connolly is perhaps best known for the majestic Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate that dominates downtown Guelph.
The red brick building on the left is the church manse.

A kookaburra sitting still in a picnic area for a while ended up snatching a sausage from the hands of one of our guys.

Photographed from his train Peter took this rather pleasant picture of 57473 trundling through Perth station. The adverts on the wall are so typical of the period (05/07/1958) with Senior Service cigarettes next to an advert for Martell Brandy.
57473 was a Drummond Jumbo and it left St Rollox works 02/1897, it had a life span of over 64 years being withdrawn in August 1961.

The former Perth Water Works of 1832 is one of Scotland's most significant industrial buildings. It is the earliest identified example of a large scale cast-iron building in Scotland and may be the very first in the world. Occupying a critical corner site at one of the main entry points to the city, its rotunda with iconic dome and tall engine house chimney is visible from many vantage points, providing the city with one of its most distinctive landmarks.
