O gótico permite a ligação da terra ao céu e, no interior de uma catedral do estilo, o crente é impelido à ascensão pela afirmação constante da verticalidade, pela monumentalidade das paredes que parecem erguer-se segundo uma teoria contrária à da gravidade, tornando-as leves, deixando por elas filtrar o colorido dos grandes vitrais numa aura etérea. A utilização de tais elementos arquitectónicos numa catedral deve-se mais a um propósito religioso prático que a aspirações artísticas.
O edifício tem 127 metros de comprimento, 48 metros de largura e 35 metros de altura é rematada em cima por abóbadas e dá o primeiro passo na construção colossal do gótico. As maciças colunas de fuste liso da nave, que acentuam a verticalidade, fazem a divisão em arcadas altas para as alas laterais e suportam uma tribuna (galeria), em que janelas para o exterior são abertas para deixar entrar mais luz. Criando unidade com este elemento surge o clerestório a fazer o remate superior com os seus grandes grupos de janelas de dois lances e óculo.
A rosácea do braço norte do transepto tem 13 metros de diâmetro e um azul forte como cor dominante. A composição baseia-se no número 8 e suas multiplicações e simboliza o Universo, a Terra e os sete planetas. No centro surge a Mãe de Deus rodeada de medalhões com representação de personagens do Antigo Testamento, profetas, reis e altos clérigos.
A rosácea do braço sul do transepto baseia-se do mesmo modo no número 12 e apresenta central a imagem de Cristo como o julgador do mundo. À sua volta, em medalhões, surgem apóstolos e anjos.
La acampada libre está permitida dentro del Parque Nacional de los Picos de Europa, siempre y cuando estén por encima de 1600 metros de altitud, por una sola noche; si quieres quedarte más días hay refugios en los que pernoctar. Toda la info aquí.

City Life/ Vida Urbana held a holiday procession and rally at which over 100 people gathered at 29 Paris St. (the church that has provided refuge to Maverick St. tenants who were forced out of their homes when a wall collapsed and have not been able to move back in.) The candlelight procession walked to Maverick Sq. for an alternative tree lighting ceremony. Many tenant associations placed decorations on what they are calling a "Justice Tree." Each decoration will give the name of the tenant association and what they want for the holidays - "Just Cause" protections from eviction." Just Cause Eviction is a proposed City of Boston home rule petition supported by a coalition of 35 groups. This would make it illegal to use current no-fault eviction laws to evict homeowners after foreclosure or to clear out buildings without cause. It would permit use of the no-fault process to enforce a large rent increase only after one mediation is held. Without such a law, City Life leaders and tenant organizers are afraid that working class people, in particular tenants of color, will be forcibly driven out of their Boston homes because rents are rising so rapidly.

Luego de destacar la importancia de avanzar en el proceso de paliar las
diferencias que existen entre los diferentes sectores y lograr de esta
manera una sociedad más equitativa e igualitaria, el candidato de la
coalición PRI-PVEM-PANAL a la Presidencia Municipal de Querétaro, Roberto
Loyola Vera, propuso conformar un sistema de políticas públicas que
permitan abatir los niveles de desigualdad social.
Al encabezar la inauguración del Foro Ciudadano sobre Desarrollo Social,
que coordina el Arquitecto Martín Larios García, el abanderado de la
alianza ‘Compromiso por Querétaro’ aseguró que la función fundamental de la
autoridad es paliar las diferencias que existen entre sus gobernados y
acortar su distancia con la ciudadanía.
“A lo largo de las últimas décadas, México y Querétaro han construido
políticas públicas a las que han destinado recursos en materia de
desarrollo social, que no han logrado transformar las condiciones de vida
de los ciudadanos y que den paso a un desarrollo social verdadero”,
reconoció.

Durante este encuentro con especialistas en materia de salud, antropología,
equidad de género, asistencia social, cultura, educación y deporte, Roberto
Loyola formuló la necesidad de proveer a los ciudadanos de las condiciones
mínimas de bienestar; al tiempo de señalar que “el gran asunto es encontrar
cuál es la fórmula para destinar recursos, que transformen las condiciones
de vida y den paso a un verdadero desarrollo social”.

Se comprometió a gobernar con una actitud que tenga como punto de partida
establecer un sistema dinámico, donde los ciudadanos sean verdaderamente
los protagonistas de la historia. “Que esto no sea sólo una frase retórica
que se escuche o se vea bien en los espectaculares, sino que sea una forma
de actuar permanente del gobierno y sus gobernados”, concluyó.
Al finalizar, el Arquitecto Martín Larios entregó al candidato priísta un
documento elaborado con las primeras propuestas de los expertos en materia
de desarrollo social, “que serán aporte para fortalecer la plataforma
política que encabeza Roberto Loyola”.

A demolition permit was issued for the 1878 house in April 2019, and a building permit for a single-family 3-story residence and garage was issued one month later. The property sold for $312,000.
at the Lone Pine interagency visitor center. The kids love this 3-D map. This was before the place got overrun by a tour bus. We were doing an overnight in Little Lakes the next day. Nice that you can reserve permits online for that area now (Inyo NF). You can choose where to pick up the permit and since this is along the way, we figured it was less risky than doing it in Bishop, where things might be closed by the time we got up there.
We didn't hit any traffic, but we did waste about 10min in a detour to nowhere. The 118 to 405 ramp was closed, so they routed us down Sepulveda to another ramp, which was also closed.
Somehow, this phone photo came out much clearer than the two I took with the dslr.
