I don't know the reason why they have this obsession for black animals (like the
black chicken), but I can't describe how incredibly delicious is the bacon from black pigs prepared in this way.
You cook the bacon just putting it on the embers: the fat drains on the fire and you can savor the meat at the level of baking you like better. And of course you can combine it with kimchi and the wide range of vegetables offered.

Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park (Catalan: 'Parc Nacional d'Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici') is the only national park in Catalonia, Spain.
A wild mountain region in the Pyrenees, with peaks rising to 3,017 m (Besiberri Sud) and with nearly 200 lakes, many of them of glacial origin, the park comprises:
* the core area (141 km²)
* a peripheral or buffer zone surrounding the park (267 km²)
The park has an elevation range from 1,600 to 3,000 metres and contains four major vegetation zones: lower montane, upper montane, subalpine and alpine. It has a great variety of alpine vegetation, including dark-coniferous mountain forest (fir, mountain pine) and subalpine pine forest. The fauna includes Pyrenean chamois, marmot, ermine, roe deer, among other mammals and numerous birds (Black Woodpecker, Common Crossbill, Lammergeier, Golden Eagle). The park was created in 1956. Its administrative seats are in Espot and Boí. The park is mainly located in the comarques of Pallars Sobirà and Alta Ribagorça.

Edema is a peripheral problem to three different health issues that I live with. Hypothyroidism, fibromyalgia, and peri-menopause. None them will kill me, just make me miserable.
I’ve been sick the last couple of days (my son shared his head cold with me before he went out of state), so I’ve been napping whenever I can. So I didn’t bother to put shoes on today. That’s also part of why the swelling is so big. My shoes usually compress my ankles pretty well.
Anyway, I’m elevating the best I can since I can’t really lay down (congestion). Watching “Snapped” marathon & drinking plenty of water.
Maintaining the Shield (deflecting depression) is an image that portrays the onset of depression. In the peripheral view a seemingly innocuous cumuli of tiny black particles begin to gather. They swirl and dance in the air like a noxious cloud of negatively charged electrons. Eventually the choking fringes of an acidic wave drift gently inwards. Within this murky cloud the metaphoric atoms of fear eventually reveal themselves, as they roll and settle into the mind like a fine mist. Looming blacker, they morph into particles of panic threatening to engulf all feeling, killing emotion, replacing memory with a numb abyss. No two people are the same, yet for all who experience the onset of mental darkness, it takes great bravery and training to recognise the signs of onset, to banish the cloud before it can envelop, to take control. To attempt an explanation of the unpredictability of its onset, in varied semblance, can lead others to doubt its very existence, which is devastating for the mind that is fighting this internal battle. Time, patience and determination are key to building a defensive enclosure that can filter in happiness yet block the spectre of destructive negativity and self deprecation.

This car was involved in a nasty industrial can opener accident on the back stretch!
Actually, it was involved in an altercation with another car and slowly but surely the side panel started peeling away like a can of sardines. Needless to say, peripheral vision to the left was nil.
As a peripheral genealogist and photographer volunteer for Find A Grave, I spend a lot of time in cemeteries. This past summer Lore' and I noticed a very well kept cemetery in Mashpee, Ma. (Cape Cod) The next day we returned for a look at it and found this BEAUTIFUL memorial. It is, without a doubt, the most beautiful remembrance I have ever found. The image, the verse, everything about this stone shows LOVE, Respect and above all, Remembrance of a loved one past.
It is located in the cemetery on the grounds of the Mashpee Indian Meeting House.If you are fortunate enough to visit Cape Cod, put this site on your must see list. I pray that any family members will forgive me for posting this image without their permission.
