Becan is an archaeological site of the Maya civilization in pre-Columbian Mesoamerica. Becan is located near the center of the Yucatán Peninsula, in the present-day Mexican state of Campeche,Archaeological evidence shows that Becan was occupied in the middle Preclassic Maya period, about 550 BCE, and grew to a major population and ceremonial center a few hundred years later in the late Preclassic.

As the heavens prepare for an imminent downpour, nature paints a breathtaking scene in the mountains of Tuscany.

Italy experiences a period of intense rainfall as dark clouds dominate the sky. The relentless downpour transforms the landscape, turning streets into temporary rivers and fields into saturated patches of earth. People navigate through the rain, seeking shelter and utilizing umbrellas and raincoats to stay dry. The heavy rainfall showcases the power and unpredictability of nature, reminding us of our vulnerability in the face of natural forces.

For more than two years, because of the pandemic, I was waiting for photograph this interesting flower at Botanic Garden.

I don't know why, but the area where it grows was closed to the public.

Finaly, some months ago I could photograph. The area is shadowed most of the time, but I was luck because the plant grew a lot in this period and some flowers and leaves were touched by th sunlight :)

Kohleria amabilis, the tree gloxinia, is a species of the flowering plant belonging to the family Gesneriaceae.

This species is native to Honduras (Mesoamerica) and Colombia.

Kohleria amabilis can reach a height of 60 centimetres . Leaves have a silvery pattern and are egg-shaped, velvety, 10–10.5 centimetres long. The brightly colored flowers are about 5 centimetres, long, tubular, slightly nodding, usually pink on the outside with red or purple dots inside.

This photo shows "Kohleria amabilis var. bogotensis" which has dark green leaves and yellow and red-orange flowers. Flowering period extends from late Winter through the Spring and Summer.

These tropical plants are rhizomatous and have a period of seasonal leafless dormancy.

Original MidJourney AI assisted digital abstract with iPad Pro, TouchRetouch, procreate, and Apple Pencil.

I recently tried out the new Text-to-Image AI called MidJourney. I am blown away. The quality of its images is a huge step up from previous tools I’ve used (‘WOMBO Dream, Starry AI, and NightCafe).

The output still needs to be upscaled, de-noised, and repainted a bit, but not nearly as much as with other tools.

The user interface is a crazy nightmare… Imagine a Unix-style command line you access from a Discord chat server. There is a bit of a learning curve, but the output is worth it.

- Personnellement vu.

On Monte Calderico they settled in the 6th century BC. C. the first townsfolk, given its strategic importance for transhumance.

With the Punic wars takes place the conquest and establishment of a Roman city (the old Consaburum named by Plinio), at the foot of the Cerro Calderico, to be abandoned the town located on it. Consuegra reached a great development, being the main city of Carpetania, a key point on the roads to the north and south. Bridges, roads, a dam, an aqueduct and a circus were built. Consuegra is cited by classical authors such as Livy or Ptolemy. Through it the Roman road called "Via Laminium".

The majority of the Hispanic and Gothic population remained with the arrival of the Arabs. The castle dates back to this time. In the year 1085 Toledo falls before Alfonso VI. It seems that Consuegra had passed into the hands of Castile in 1083. In the year 1097 the son of El Cid Campeador, Diego, died in the battle of Consuegra. In this battle, the armies of Castile, commanded by King Alfonso VI, were defeated by the Almoravids commanded by Yusuf ibn Tasufin, changing hands again. It was later reconquered by Christians.

In 1150 Alfonso VII handed over his castle to his vassal Rodrigo Rodríguez. In 1183 the population, together with its alfoz, was donated by Alfonso VIII, with the approval of Pope Lucius III to the Sovereign Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (Order of Malta), which appointed Consuegra head of the Grand Priory of Castile and León, in La Mancha, taking the castle as its seat, and granting it the Fuero de Consuegra, a copy of the one in Cuenca. He emphasized in this period under his tutelage the defense after the battle of Alarcos in 1195. With the Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa, in 1212, the area finally stabilized.

within a period of 10 minutes i woke up, jumped in and out of the shower and literally ran outside with a huge buzz of excitement when i saw fog (first time i've seen fog since last winter and i LOVE it)

hahahaha. i mean, most shots didn't work out because of my 50mm lens to fit this whole thing in i had to have the camera pretty far away, and it was too far for the camera to respond to my remote.. so it was all a case of 'self timer and RUN RUN RUN' hahaha most times i didn't make it. fun!!!!

Peak period on Sydney harbour.

Last Saturday night at McMahons Point Wharf.

Saturday 12th October, 2024.

Part of my recent dusk walking tours around the harbour.

Lately I have been parking the car along Blues Point Road, and walking down to the harbour.

A catamaran had just picked up more wedding guests from the McMahons Point Wharf, and was embarking on its dusk wedding cruise.

Meanwhile, the 'John Nutt' ferry - coming from Darling Harbour - was just about to dock at McMahons Point Wharf, to collect passengers going to Luna Park (Milsons Point) and then under the bridge to Circular Quay.

The 'John Nutt' is Sydney's newest ferry, commencing service in July, 2024. It is one of the new Parramatta River Class of catamarans. John Nutt was an engineer who was chiefly responsible for constructing Sydney's Opera House.

Located about 2 to 3 hours drive east of Sofia, Plovdiv is a modern city with an extensive old city in the center. Built on seven hills like Rome, the ancient city was the Roman regional capital. Later, it became an important city in the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires. The old city features a fine Roman ampi-theater, well-preserved walls, and many fine homes from the Bulgarian Revival period. It's also famous as a haven for artists and was the European Capital of Culture in 2019.

A torrential rain period is about over now in Suriname. Because of this, the country had to open the floodgates of its main reservoir called Afobaka Dam that produces nearly all the electricity of the country. But opening the floodgates affect the level of the river and a lot of the neighboring constructions such as the Bergendal Resort in Brokopondo, Suriname.

The Kamakura Daibutsu, or Great Buddha of Kamakura, is a prominent bronze statue located in the city of Kamakura, which is part of Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. This statue is a depiction of Amida Buddha and is situated within the Kōtoku-in Temple in the small town of Hase. The Kamakura Daibutsu stands impressively at over 13 meters (43 feet) tall and weighs approximately 93 tons.

This historic statue was originally cast in the mid-13th century, around 1252, during the Kamakura period, which adds to its cultural and historical significance. The Daibutsu was initially housed within a large temple hall, but the building was destroyed multiple times by natural disasters, including typhoons and a tidal wave in the 15th century. Since then, the statue has stood in the open air.

Restrained HDR to enhance (or ruin) detail and colour.

Rail Adventure's 43480 emerges from the Great Western booking hall which spans the lines between platforms 2 and 3 at Tyseley at dusk on a chilly Friday evening. The 125 Group in association with RA and Chiltern Railways had organised this tour reminiscent of the Master Cutler in connection with the 125th Anniversary of the opening of London Marylebone. 1Z46 was due a crew change here and with that duly completed the tour departed this delightful station which is packed with period features of the railways of yesteryear.

Inside you can admire an 18th century altarpiece with a painting from the Romantic period, which, according to legend, represents Saint Philibert landing in the Ster cove on the river Crac'h after having sailed from Ireland on a stone trough.

The ceiling of the building is studded with stars and the stained glass windows evoke the agricultural and oyster farming activities of the commune.

Its Tuesday morning 1st period. Im very tired and not feeling well. I fell asleep last night around 10pm. Then my mom woke me up at 10:30 for something and i thought it was time to get up, I felt very rested, which is odd. I then went back to bed and slept till 5:30 this morning which is the normal time i wake up, i ate breakfast and then i went back to bed. I slept till 7:10 which is weird. I now feel as if i got no sleep.

Im catching something as well, my throat is killing me, and i just have that feeling that im going to get sick.

Anywho, back to what i was saying, its Tuesday morning 1st period, Im working on my final project for video 1 and i decided for the career that i wanted to talk about is director. I still have yet to film my adapt a story which i hope i can film tomorrow yet they are calling for a shit load of snow later today and tonight and alot of people are preparing for no school tomorrow.

I also should finish my math review homework, i only have a few questions left, but its like my brain gave up. Oh well, we're going over it in class. I have a math test tomorrow. ugggh.

I also have history homework to do. My review sheet. It is due in class which is 9th period so i have awhile, yet i need to study cause the test is also Wednesday.

My school sucks, literally. There was a school board meeting last night, and it was about how they might take out all the art courses in our school so that they can be replaced for the football team. Our football team sucks, we loose every game.

Oh and i finished reading Awakening. It was absolutly amazing. The ending was a little abrupt, but dont fret, Destined will be released in November.

My ipod is acting up. The internet is acting up even though i have Wi-Fi...looks like i might have to call Apple, and Geek Squad.
