Perhaps I should have titled this, "don't look if you are squeamish." I was surprised and rather grossed out, after uploading shots of a Yellow-shafted Flicker, when I saw this one of the bird seeming to savor the grub it was about to swallow.
Perhaps not an accurate title but catchy title anyway. This is a stream I discovered while hiking near Lake Minnewanka. It is located in Banff National Park, Alberta Canada. The day was perfect and the clouds were incredible. Processed in Lightroom and Topaz.
Perhaps it was a similar Autumn scene that inspired Robert Frost to write The Road Not Taken.
I took the high road which takes me on a long loop back to the forest entrance. The forest is in gorgeous Autumn colour.

Hello Everyone!
Perhaps I am a simpleton, but it never ceases to amaze me that small birds can perch on little flowers! This was taken during fall migration and the Nashville Warbler was so intent on finding bugs that it paid no attention to me as I clicked away. A few passersby stopped to ask what I was seeing. It was heartwarming to see their delight as they stood by me and watched the action. This was one of those memorable days that we all hope to have now and again.
Thanks a million for stopping by and for leaving a comment. I do love hearing from you! Have a wonderful day and weekend!

Perhaps it is a walk through scenes like this that really does help to build whatever that is! Stay safe.
Perhaps a bit early but... I just felt like winter today :-)

The Dynjandi waterfall, one of the most spectacular ones in Iceland we think.
We were lucky to get our shots with just enough light: around midnight in early May... ;-)

Perhaps the most beautiful Italian city, with a wonderful pedestrian historical center, and beautiful reflections on the river Arno!!
Female or juvenile. Landed on a tree rope. In flight, next photo.
Many thanks for your kind comments and support.

Perhaps Mr.Frisbee thinks he will fit in a bubble mailer - he won’t and he’s here forever. Handsome devil!
Perhaps as close to parity as I have ever seen in a fight between a Yellow-crowned Night Heron and a blue crab but still a one-sided affair. After only a couple of rounds the crab had lost most of the appendages on the right side and those on the left soon followed. Even then it took quite a while for the bird to pulverize the crab's carapace sufficiently to get it down the hatch. On Horsepen Bayou.

Perhaps the most famous view with Prague Castle and the St Vitus Cathedral on the hill. My first attempt at a blue hour shot, only heard about it a few months ago, still not used a tripod. This was taken from a river side restaurant, every table was taken by 5.00 pm.
Then as the sky darkened, cameras came out & you could not move or see the bridge for all the people, tripods & selfie shooters.
Great watching the more professional photographers with their multiple shots, long exposures & different filters.
One even felt sorry for me, looking at my expensive camera balanced on railings, he offer the use of his tripod, too late already taken this, not bad for a first attempt
but you can always make it less thankless. :-)

I think the hummingbird mating dance is just special to witness. I look forward in a few weeks to see the young immatures dancing about the garden and porch.

But perhaps even more exciting than the beautiful, if stark, landscape are the vents where you can feel the moist, hot air escaping from the earth itself. Just look across the landscape for a spot of bright green, a fern or a small flowering plant, or maybe some sprouting mushrooms, and you will likely find a vent that is providing the moisture this small plant needs to survive. It is a reminder of how this land is still in the process of active change.
"Perhaps they are not
stars in the sky,
but rather openings
where our loved ones
shine down
to let us know they
are happy".
This was taken last night in the western sky from my back deck. The very bright star is Jupiter and the one below is Venus. Photographing the night sky is a learning curve for me.
It's late here, so I will catch up with you tomorrow my Flickr friends:))
Perhaps no glorious sunset or sunrise over Vestahorn, but plenty of low hanging clouds can make for nice pictures too.
DSC2149 Perhaps a bit more realistic than the last one! It's always horses for courses with editing. Does anyone else drive themselves mad doing numerous different edits of the one image?....and even then I go back and think it's still not quite right! Crop this way or that, more or less saturation, white balance, levels, curves, clarity or not, tones etc,etc....and the lighting...I always have trouble with that. I used to have a relatively dark room to edit in and my images always came out too dark. Now my room is very bright ( which I like and don't want to shut blinds to edit) and now sometimes are too bright even though I check histogram. However, I do feel that the brightness demonstrates the conditions in Australia.....not always the best for photography! It is pretty bright most of the time. I particuarly noticed this when I returned many years ago from a stay in Singapore for a few weeks. I couldn't believe how bright everything was when I returned. Sunglasses are a must! Bla,bla, bla. What a lot of drivel! Haha!

Pisac, Peru
Pisac is perhaps best known for its Incan ruins, known as Inca Písac, which lie atop a hill at the entrance to the valley. The ruins are separated along the ridge into four groups: P'isaqa, Inti Watana, Qalla Q'asa, and Kinchiraqay.[3] Inti Watana group includes the Temple of the Sun, baths, altars, water fountains, a ceremonial platform, and an inti watana, a volcanic outcrop carved into a "hitching post for the Sun" (or Inti). The angles of its base suggest that it served to define the changes of the seasons.[4] Qalla Q'asa, which is built onto a natural spur and overlooks the valley, is known as the citadel. (Wikipedia)
