Dancing with Roald Dahl - fun for small people with huge imaginations.

Public Address: The Soapbox Tour, a theatrical spoken word show. From mythological women to reasons for love, from the quirky to the political, from gender to bees and everything in between – performance poets take to their soapboxes and give voice to the passions and stories within us all.

 

Featuring ensemble artists Justin Coe, Jasmine Gardosi, Shagufta K, and AJ McKenna, alongside guest artists Henry Raby, Keisha Thompson, Ingrid McLaren, and Helen Seymour.

I was on a college forensics team for a year. My coaches were two amazing performance poets, Joel Chmara & Robbie Q. Telfer. They sometimes perform in an ensemble called "The Speak Easy Ensemble" with Dan Sully, Tim Stafford, Molly Meacham, & originally Mary Fons. Sully & Stafford, pictured here, also perform as a twosome called "Death From Below."

 

Anyway, they all performed at the 2008 Phi Rho Pi college forensics nationals. Pictured here are Sully & Stafford.

Poster for Barnstormer poetry events in 1997, held at the Barn Theatre, Southwick. Performers included Joolz, Seething Wells, John Dowie, John Cooper Clarke, Pink Sly, Harry Zevenbergen, Jackie Kay and Ros Palfrey. Also mention of the 1997 Glastonwick Festival in June.

Performing along side other acts including Guy J Jackson and Scroobius Pip, Mat decides the Bar is a better place to perform than the stage. The crowd seemed to agree! Photos By SL
