I had the great privilege of attending a performance put on by students here in Dushanbe. They were directed by an extraordinary woman from Paris who works here each year under the auspices of the French Cultural Center and a local university.
The work was beautifully choreographed and performed---some of it quite startling in it's strong contempory style...
MSU Libraries hosted the 4th annual Charles Templeton Ragtime Jazz Festival on March 26-27, 2010, on the campus of Mississippi State University in Mitchell Memorial Library's Charles H. Templeton, Sr. Music Museum and in Lee Hall Auditorium.
Artists Frederick Hodges, David Jasen, Carl Sonny Leyland, Adam Swanson, and Terry Waldo provided music, entertainment, laughter, amazing talent, and insight into the world of ragtime and jazz performance.
Here, Adam Swanson performs in an intimate talk-at-the-piano in the Libraries' Charles H. Templeton, Sr. Music Musem.

Audio Lodge is a Canadian sound art collective dedicated to the aural exploration of cultural systems and their unexpected analogues in the environment. Comprised of multidisciplinary artists Kevin Curtis-Norcross, Troy David Ouellette and Paul Walde, the collective was established as a platform for interdisciplinary research using sound as a point of departure. Each artist brings to the fore concerns regarding environmental and social practice through the inherent hidden systems of the locations explored. Audio Lodge has exhibited their work in galleries in Canada and Australia and has developed a series of live performance sound works for galleries and concert settings.

I love doing photos of landscapes and cityscapes and all that sort of stuff but this year I want to start bringing a bit more of a human element to my photos.
Started a little early with a bit of street photography last weekend in Sydney's Pitt Street Mall and caught this gentleman putting on a performance. Hope you like.

This creative collaboration between Lovebytes and Sheffield Young Singers gives young people aged 6-16 the chance to explore the creative potential of digital technologies. A series of workshops for the brothers and sisters of children in the highly successful choir, Sheffield Young Singers, has resulted in the creation of a visual accompaniment to which will be projected as the choir give the premiere performance of A Sheffield Song Book.
A Sheffield Song Book is a suite of six songs giving a child's eye view of Sheffield. The Song Book was commissioned by Sheffield Young Singers and has been written by Berlie Doherty with music by Richard Chew. During the Siblings Project the participants learned about a range of photographic techniques (portraits, landscapes, close-up and abstract work, etc) and captured images to illustrate the themes of the six songs in the song book. The children's pictures will be edited into a continuous image stream for projection during the choir's performance.
Over 20 young people aged 6-16 took part in the project led by Vicky Morris, a freelance photography tutor and editor of Cube Magazine.
