A surfer regrettably leaves the ocean after a perfect evening of surfing. One surfer still remains finding it too difficult to end his enjoyment. It's the King Tides and what the surfers dream about. Some days are near perfection and this is one of them.

The Scarassoui Viaduct is on e of the most significant bridges on the "Tenda"-Railway Between Cuneo and Ventimiglia/Nice. It's a great symbol of modernity that fits perfecly in the old shapes of the Roya-Canyon. On the 21st of August, the Regional train made by two Trenitalia Minuetto DMU's passed over this wonderpiece of modern art and Engineering southbound to Ventimiglia.

The phrase “If you build it, they will come” takes on a new meaning for this photo opportunity. In 2018 we built a blind overlooking an active area at a local wetland, where waterfowl, semiaquatic rodents, reptiles and amphibians congregate in search of meals and mates. What we hadn’t anticipated is the tree that fell into the water during the summer of 2019. This tree fell about 10 or so yards west of the blind and is visible from all portholes. Over the summer months, vegetation continue to thrive, providing idyllic perches for our very elusive Belted Kingfishers. Serendipity!

By the time our first eastbound came along, the fog had lifted, but the lake was still like glass on this perfectly calm morning. Between trains we got to watch a pelican or two fishing beneath the bridge, a huge flock of geese fly overhead, and listen to a chorus of smaller songbirds. It really was a perfect morning, like our own private garden with trains running through it.

Not just a perfect sunrise, but a perfect piece of stying and design in the form of the ever beautiful E-Type Jaguar roadster from 1961.

I posted this after just having seen a few videos on youtube about the latest Jaguar concept car and associated marketing and rebranding that is going on. For me, (and many others it seems) it prompted a huge "what were they thinking?" reaction. It is a near total departure from everything that made the Jaguar name famous.

One video I saw attracted over eight thousand comments, almost all of which were negative toward the marketing, the design and almost all said it will be the end of Jaguar as we know it!

I can't help thinking if they simply re-released this beauty with some modern engineering and safety gear but keeping the style and design, it would be much more of a success than the latest concept!

A pseudo forced perspective of my 1/18th AUTOart scale model 1961 E-Type Jaguar roadster set against the backdrop of a perfect sunrise in Robe on South Australia's Limestone coast.

Beautiful rose in the rain.
