Chief of Police Frank Fowler speaks to residents about crime and gun violence statistics during a community dialogue organized by the brothers of Prince Hall Masonic Temple on Oct. 18. At the discussion, “Improving
Perceptions Between Police & The Community,” Fowler said that while crime in the city is down, shots fired and murder incidents are up. He said residents can help police by reporting criminal activity and by communicating constructively.
“I may be a lot of things,
but clairvoyant, I am not,” Fowler told the group.

Artist talk by Donna Legault (ON) presented in partnership with aceartinc.
Donna Legault is an artist working in the field of sound art, electronic installation, sculpture, and performance. The intersection of these practices focus on the resonance of sound as a dynamic extension of everyday actions. Her interest in the perception of sound draws participants’ attention towards the relational qualities of “noise” as a material and temporal presence. Donna has a degree in Art History from Carleton University, and in Visual Arts from Ottawa University.

After falling over myself in a moment worthy of capturing for internet sharing, yet unfortunately only recorded by the woodland network I have some stills of the sky to share. If a Fool falls in the forest does he make sound? For now that’s between me and the tree that I triple float footed fell for and landed severely squarely upon. Before I checked my limbs I tried to takes a pictures of the scene revealed to me by the fall. After getting the first image I did think to check for any major injury. Today I have three ankles on one leg and one ankle upon the other leg. I am pretty sure that I have factory reset my perception. All is healing, but I am in receipt of strange update functions. As a part of the continued healing I loading this photographic record and then seeking Morpheus for a mumble making minute, or two.
The original title for the seven renditions seemed too off putting.

If the numbers and references work for you then I am happy, if you are not bothered with the numbers and references then I am just as happy. Hopefully there is something in the pictures and the description that is worth a look?

A portion of the American flag, back lit and shot from behind as metaphor for perceptions and misperceptions of the United States, its people and policies during the Bush Administration.
The is one of my own paintings that I found as an example of a gradient perception of depth. Keeping the front plane consistently stark pushes the distance as seen through the windows. The repeated shapes of the trees and bushes past the darkened wall create a gradual gradient effect that leads into the far landscape. The consistent gradations of color and light add to the gradated effect that the bushes and trees have on the space.
