Perception Perspective

Artist Polly Morgan poses with one of the exhibits from her new exhibition, "The Exquisite Corpse" at Trinity Church, 1 Marylebone Road, London, 3 October 2007. Polly Morgan learned taxidermy in order to celebrate the corpse as a thing of beauty and significance, rather than attempting to resurrect the body as is the usual object of the craft. Polly Morgans work has been credited with helping to bring taxidermy up to date and contributing to a shift in public perception of taxidermy by refusing to use any animal that hasnt died a natural or unpreventable death. My eye is constantly drawn to the bud in the upper left corner, and my brain keeps whispering. "feed me!"

*Seymour: Does it have to be human?

Audrey II: Feed me!

Seymour: Does it have to be mine?

Audrey II: Feeeed me!

Seymour: How am I supposed to get it?

Audrey II: [singing] Feed me, Seymour / Feed me all night long - That's right, boy! - Go to it, Feed me Seymour / Feed me all night long / Cause if you feed me, Seymour / I can grow up big and strong.
