this was probably completed in 87 or 88 and i'd already been a fan for about four or five years.

Pencil drawing: a dried protea flower.
What I'd like to achieve with Misty's class is to let loose. Not be such a perfectionist. Draw from my imagination more and less from my eye. Forget a little of my art training "rules" and see the world through different lenses.
Work in progress ... have 3 going at the same time now ... a few more details & I'm going to attemp to add color ... may take a few days on this one but should be fun! ... Going to try watercolors for the 1st time.
Couldn't sleep last night, watched the sun come up and out my studio door, I see this view all the time. My newly planted Wilson olive tree is growing well here in the high desert. The sunrise had all the colors of the rainbow.

I did my version of the 4th picture linked to that was demonstrating one point perspective. Materials used: 0.7mm HB mechanical pencil, 0.5mm HB mechanical pencil, and kneadable eraser for touch ups.

I found an old photograph of my grandparents. It was taken in 1955. My grandfather past away twenty years ago. I was 21 or so and I had not realized at that time how handsome he was. My grandmother is alive, she is 84 now. I just had to draw them.
