This is a pencil drawing that served as the study for a painting of the same name. I’ve got many things posted from over a decade ago. This is an attempt to get my followers and other to go back and check out my art albums.

This is a pencil drawing I did in High School of two soldiers in a photo from Viet Nam.
It was tough getting a good photo of it but Derek, my son, gave it a good try.
This pencil sketch was done on a 6 x 8 inch sheet of Strathmore Drawing Paper. It’s cropped a bit as it appears here and is some-what brighter and cooler than the Strathmore Drawing upon which
it was created. Enjoy.

This is the reference image for a drawing of my son Jeremiah feeding is week-old daughter Sophie. I used a AGPtek 17" light box to project the reference photo THROUGH a sheet of Arches 140 lb. hot-press paper. Considering the opacity of this heavy paper, the power of this little light box is astonishing. The next step will be to very lightly trace the major reference lines of the image, which will become my guidelines for the final image.
