Peeking in the window and almost blushing. A shot from late June 2005 of artwork by one of our favorite artists, Joe Basiste, in the Eldridge McCarthy Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Basiste, formerly known as Eli Levin, paints in egg tempera which is the medium I've recently been experimenting with. His work under Eli Levin, focused on bar scenes while all the new work under Joe Basiste focuses on female nudes.

Well, Josh wasn't exactly hiding; but it seems too funny not to use this. (Especially with Annette's feet in frame too)

I had auntie duty the past two weekends. Most recently, 4 yr old Audrey stayed with us for a couple of days.
Despite the overnight frost advisories and the the 30-40F degree weather, we HAD to visit the newest park I'd recently discovered.

Asia as usual, hiding behind something to pounce and vanquish me....or to run off in a fluff ball....one of the two
although cleo and achilles (our two cats, this being cleo) are getting along better with jackson (our dog) than they were initially, there still isnt the snuggling on the couch that im hoping for...
in fact, i found that cleo sometimes would dissapear when jackson came around. i finally figured out that she was hiding on a little shelf under our kitchen table. she loves this spot because jackson has yet to discover it. and she looks so cute there! when i brought my camera over, she kinda looked at me like "seriously, you're totally blowing my cover, mom!"
so, as i wait for the snuggling days to arrive, we do get some very funny moments of chase...and the cats do continue to like jackson more and more every day...getting braver as time goes on...
This was kind of an accident, but I thought it was too funny not to post. I was just shooting this wall to make sure my white balance was right for another shot. And after I snapped this, I realized Quincy was peeking around the corner, wondering what I was doing. Hahaha, doesn't he look like such an old man in this? All squinty and confused. Hehehe.

WIT: I was inspired to do this when I saw Prozac's photo from the prior "World through a keyhole" assignment. Camera on tripod and remote. I shot it in black and white so that I wouldn't have to airbrush etc. But I cropped a bit from top, pushed up exposure and tweaked shadows and darks.

Just caught the sun peeking over the horizon, noticed it from the car but was no time to find some foreground interest......

Camel Caravan, the Peek Bros. & Co. Trademark (1884) by William Theed, on the outside of Peek House, 20 Eastcheap, the City of London. The firm were dealers in tea, coffee and spices.
Taken near Willow springs lake in Payson. Was scouting for fall colors, and this was only patch I found that had some yellow. Its just starting to turn yellow in the rim area.

The Taj Mahal seen behind a tree, as if hiding from plain sight.
Taj Mahal, a symbol of love that has been standing for centuries and still continues to do so. Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
The Tree pictured here is from the royal garden that happens to be there from the times of Mughal Empire, however this particular tree isn't that old.
Peek a Boo bag pattern from Sweet Treasures. This bag is about 9 X 10 X 2. The center is a piece of clear vinyl so you can see what you're looking for! I made a quick tissue case in matching fabric.

Peek-a-Boo Patterns The Skinny Jeans pattern in 3t (a size up since I used non stretch heavy denim) There were holes in the pants that I patched before sewing them up. I didn't want extra bulk on my son's butt since this jean is very heavy so I painted some green faux pockets on instead :)
