The design was developed in the winter. I admit that I do not like this season of year. The coldness is not my worst enemy. Sure, I don't like when it is minus fifteen and under, but the most tires me continuous darkness. My greatest joy of winter, however, are oranges. This winter was mentally frustrating. We had information about refugees from Syria, freezing in improvised refugee camps. Winter veiled by smog and human tragedy. On the pattern I put oranges, and the Arabic word "orange" "burtukal" looping at green-blue leafy background. Arabic is difficult, I struggled with him in college, and the results were pathetic. However, writing in this way gives a lot of fun. These smooth, flexible lines, soft curves and complementary dots offer many possibilities.

What a great way to get colorful results while knitting with only one color per row using slip stitches and knitting the garment from one side to the other.. Achieve drape and flair by wrapping stitches and dropping them in the following row. The pattern is written for five colors, but any number will work just fine, including two colors for drama, or one color and two textures (say cotton classic lite and ripple?) The sky is the limit here! The sample has 3 colors. I also worked optional "flutter sleeves" that have their beginnings in a sample
swatch.
