I was recently at the Sunshine Coast (Queensland) and walked around the rocks between Moffat Beach and Shelly Beach. There were a lot of interesting rocks, rock patterns and even leaf fossils.

This is the roof of the Seattle central library.
I used a macro lens with the focal lens of 100mm in order to obtain a closer and more detailed pattern. I use a relative small ISO to reduce noises.
I processed this photo with Lightroom. I increased the color saturation and contrast to trying to compensate for the effect of white light reflection.

Wit: I almost didnt submit for this assignment since it was a busy weekend.
But, on my way to my inlaws early this evening, i saw this scene and the light was nice. I tried many compositions etc while my wife was in the car somewhat irritated and waiting. I dont think I had the right thinking cap on but I sort of like it.
Looking at my metadata, I think i had some room with my shutterspeed and could have stopped down some more to get more dof . Actually, this image was somewhat underexposed and I had to fix it by putting up a duplicate layer in screen mode and masking out some areas. As usual..some contrast, bumped the sat slightly, and sharpening. Cropped some off the right. I think there is some pattern in here, but I would have liked have found an image that really said "pattern" And, I would have also liked it if the redsox won. Congrats Steve.

Found this old pattern when sorting my sewing stuff. It is dated 1944 so it was probably one of Mom's early patterns or Grandma's.
Bales of straw; different b&w version. High key not low as file name. Not sure what looks best most effective ?
I used the clone tool in Gimp to make the image appear seamless. The flower petals were very hard to work with!

I normally don't go with black... but does it work? If not, what would you suggest? Low volume so the blocks don't stand out?
This photo was taken in Federal Hall at ISU. When I heard that we were shooting pattern and repetition, this was the first thing that came to mind. At first, I was going to take the photo just as if someone would see the boxes if they were facing them. I thought that would be the best way to show the patterns. Then I found box 5282, which is a different color than all of the other boxes in that area. I thought that would be a great focal point because it is unique. Then I took about seven million pictures of the same box from every different angle. I thought this one was the best, but I still had some cropping to do in photoshop. When I shot this photo, I still had the wall where the boxes end in the background, out of focus. I realized that, if I cropped the wall out, it would look like these boxes go on forever. I thought that was a great addition to this piece. I messed around with the color a little bit, but I really did not make any major changes other than the cropping. I used a burn tool to make box 5282 stand out a little bit around the edges. Since everything else is out of focus, I didn't really mess with the rest of the photo.
