The moss growing between the cobbles seemed to accentuate the pattern. And, it worked in black and white too.

Soft-focus filters are extreme difficult to capture in a photograph. These shadow pictures are an easier way.

I know, this has been done before. And better too. For the real stuff, take a look at Michael Wolf’s Architecture of Density series.

 

I like this photo because everybody wants to be Michael Wolf for a day.

(I posted colour versions of these quite a while ago but like the b&w versions too. I hope you do as well).

Based on late 17th century French pattern design, discovered in Provence region - hence the name. I've developed the steps to reproduce it. Enjoy :)

Came down to the beach to take an ocean sunset but it was blowing a gale so took these waves instead.

The shade cloth behind this leaf was being lit from the back, causing the same patterns to appear on the leaf!

This is a photo of strangely organic patterns created in the sand by a very shallow stream that flows in a wide fan across Clam Harbour Beach.
