Way back during Christmas break we were lucky enough to get some snow. I took a walk through the park at Grand Caverns as I usually do when it snows. Whenever it snows this park looks like a scene out of Narnia.

Another shot taken on the recent meet with the Lumsdale group. Thanks to Graham Fox for organising the day, also Alan Taylor and Liz, Steve Woodhead, Dave Oxtaby, Sean Chapman and Iain for the pleasure of their company.

I really love this viewpoint at Lumsdale, did a colour version a few years ago but it gives a totally different feel in B&W.

This week, I was told that my infant son now has a condition in his left eye that is causing him to go blind. This...a week after we found out he is going deaf. How does a mother even begin to process this? For me...I create, I breathe, then I try to move forward.

After we got the diagnosis, I gave myself over to my art for a short time to try to bring myself back to center.

This mandala was inspired by Stephanie Smith (aka Biffy Beans), her work sometimes says for me, what my own mind cannot express. I used a color palette that show the overwhelming chaos I am feeling, edging it with calm and stability...the place I am trying to get to.

The mandala is the anchor, floating and spinning, but holding to the center. It is order from chaos, a simple stop along my pathway to healing.

Taking at Manhattan Beach Pier, CA after work with my friend! We knew the date that the sun would be at the middle of the pier at sunset! So we were here early to wait for this moment. It was a great sunset that day and there were a lot of photographers came out to take photo. But I was so surprised that no one came and took photo under the pier except me and my friend. Maybe they didn't know about this or they already took photos like this. Anyways, this pier is not popular as the Scripps pier in San Diego. I heard that there were a lot of photographers came to Scripps pier to capture a moment like this, so I've never been to that pier for the shot because of the crowd. I chose to take similar photo at Manhattan Beach and it's not bad at all! :)

I really like this photo and I can't wait for the next time. Thanks for stopping by and supporting my works everyone!

There are so many great pathways and walks around Calgary year round.

“As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.”
