The past empowers the present, and the sweeping footsteps leading to this present mark the pathways to the future. ~ Mary Catherine Bateson

Side roads and sidewalks are all that remain of the lower housing complex for Stewart Air Force Base. In the 80's when this was Stewart Army Sub-Post and my Army Reserve Unit was here, the houses where inhabited by army families. All gone now

Looking through my old shots, I stumbled upon this one. I remember it was such a beautiful day by the sea; I went there with my sister and there was this beautiful sunset, and I truly could not stop taking silhouette pictures.. they were very memorable few minutes, as if the sunshine was reminding me not to lose hope in finding happiness again. I was really depressed back then, but it's moments like these that got me through that summer.. at the end it stayed a memorable, very special summer in my heart, one of the hardest but most special ones. I felt so alive back then. Does that make any sense? I don't know, but it surprises me up to this day, and I love remembering these moments through my pictures..

The McDougal Church in Morleyville (between Calgary and Banff) was built in the early 1870s an renovated in the 1950. It's one of the oldest churches of its kind that is still in its original location.
