The pathway leading up to the front door of our building. This is probably the average height of a lot of the drifts around here. We walked through some that were a bit taller, too.

In the business, we call this a "pathway". This is the open window that lets outdoor air infiltrate your home, placing your HVAC system under extra load.

This is an interior wall, BTW. All outlets, receptacles, phone jacks, cable outlets, etc. So, it's obvious to seal your doors/windows, but there are more penetrations than you'd imagine in your home.

Spied this view of a pathway we walked upon during our daily outing yesterday after it had rained all day long.

...It is a curving, winding pedestrian/bicyclist trailway that literally goes on for miles and runs astride a small river traversing through 4 towns....Good times.

Kodak Portra 800 Film ~ Canon AE-1P 28mm f/2.8

At Chawton House, in Hampshire, UK. Shot in Infrared in early January.

An exercise in patience, this shot was actually difficult to manage due to the high traffic on the pathway and the constantly changing dynamics of the area. The water show in the pond occurs every few minutes with colors that change continuously, and of course the Astro Orbiter is always doing its thing....

I was setup in this location through 20 exposures or more so that I might capture all of the changing and different elements for the final scene. In the end, I used 8 different exposures to complete this composite image, including individual shots for the water show (changing colors), the sky (15-20 second exposure to control stretching stars-also includes higher ISO setting of 200 to accomplish this with my particular camera), Astro Orbiter is a composite of two spinning sequences, and finally the basic scene is composited from several shots to control highlights and people walking through the scene.

All elements were adjusted first in Lightroom for basic exposure and color adjustments, and blended in Photoshop using various layer masking techniques

Where does this pathway take you ???

I was pretty happy to get some of the autumn colours before I headed back to Vancouver Island. We don't get the colours like this over here!

Taken after buffalo's south towns got hit with a quick 10-12 inches of snow. I got a chance to test out my snow tires and shoot some photos, but damn was it cold.

'Lost Leica' series - part three

Understand, I’ll slip quietly

away from the noisy crowd

when I see the pale

stars rising, blooming, over the oaks.

I’ll pursue solitary pathways

through the pale twilit meadows,

with only this one dream:

You come too.

Thank you everyone for your on going support!

Went to the cemetery this morning. I have never been to this one and it was huge. Got there around 0745 this morning, just as the morningg sun was coming up over the trees. Perfect time and the perfect time of the year to come.

The imagination is the golden pathway to everywhere.

Terence McKenna.

Terence Kemp McKenna (November 16, 1946 – April 3, 2000) was an American ethnobotanist, mystic, psychonaut, lecturer, author, and an advocate for the responsible use of naturally occurring psychedelic plants. He spoke and wrote about a variety of subjects, including psychedelic drugs, plant-based entheogens, shamanism, metaphysics, alchemy, language, philosophy, culture, technology, environmentalism, and the theoretical origins of human consciousness. He was called the "Timothy Leary of the '90s", "one of the leading authorities on the ontological foundations of shamanism", and the "intellectual voice of rave culture".

McKenna formulated a concept about the nature of time based on fractal patterns he claimed to have discovered in the I Ching, which he called novelty theory, proposing this predicted the end of time in the year 2012. His promotion of novelty theory and its connection to the Maya calendar is credited as one of the factors leading to the widespread beliefs about 2012 eschatology. Novelty theory is considered pseudoscience. Source Wikipedia.

"Look back at our struggle for freedom,

Trace our present day's strength to it's source;

And you'll find that man's pathway to glory

Is strewn with the bones of the horse."

These lighted stepping pads created a pathway through one section of Luminaria. Fun for the whole family.

I don't take a ton of sunset photos, but i am glad i did this one. Brilliant late-sunset colors combined with no wind turned Delaney Lake into a perfect mirror.

explore #125 June 16, 2009

We live on the best part of our housing estate and this path leads to our homes. It's a genuine joy to walk down whatever the time of year.

From earlier this week, we were hoping for some auroras but didn't quite get the show we were hoping for. But we had great fun capturing the Milky Way, here seen over Steigtind. One of the many pathways winding along the neighborhoods in The Woodlands. They are purposely designed so cannot see what is ahead. Although it looks like you are far from anything, there is a street about 10 feet to the left of the frame. Over the years I have run and walked countless miles on these paths.

Some additional photos from the 3rd week of the year.
