Introduced in 1985 and in North America in 1986 as an early 1987 model, the early Pathfinders were 2-door wagons. The 4-door wagon followed in the 1990 model year and the 2-door was dropped.
Totally redesigned just two years ago, the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder once again offers exceptional levels of versatility, fuel efficiency and full-size comfort for seven passengers. Pathfinder is available in 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive configurations, with all models powered by a fuel-efficient 260-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC V6.
I'm going to quote my wife for a description here. She's an architectural historian, a town planner, and a former empty homes officer at Shelter, so it's fair to say she knows what she's talking about:
"What sort of idiocy takes whole swathes of successful city streets, full of the sorts of homes that people across the country want to live in, forcibly moves the communities out and disperses them, looks to replace them with lower density, lower quality homes that are less successful at building and supporting communities, at great cost and with a net reduction of number of homes and quality of the built environment?
And then doesn't succeed in doing even that. Instead, vast sections of city dead and boarded up for years and years. Homes rotting unnecessarily while housing waiting lists get more and more stretched.
And yet someone, somewhere thought it was a good idea. And then other people agreed and decided to make it happen. These streets only received consent for demolition in summer 2013. I cannot begin to see even a single good argument for it, and cannot understand how anyone could persuade themselves that this is the sensible option.
Ooooh, it makes me mad."
Me too.

On July 4, 1997, Mars Pathfinder landed on the Red Planet. It delivered the first-ever robotic rover, Sojourner, to the planet's surface.
A panoramic view of Pathfinder's Ares Vallis landing site reveals traces of this warmer, wetter past, showing a floodplain covered with a variety of rock types, boulders, rounded and semi-rounded cobbles and pebbles. These rocks and pebbles are thought to have been swept down and deposited by floods which occurred early in Mars' evolution in the Ares and Tiu regions near the Pathfinder landing site.
The image, which is a 75-frame, color-enhanced mosaic taken by the Imager for Mars Pathfinder, looks to the southwest toward the Rock Garden, a cluster of large, angular rocks tilted in a downstream direction from the floods. The image shows the Pathfinder rover, Sojourner, snuggled against a rock nicknamed Moe. The south peak of two hills, known as Twin Peaks, can be seen on the horizon, about 1 kilometer (6/10ths of a mile) from the lander. The rocky surface is comprised of materials washed down from the highlands and deposited in this ancient outflow channel by a catastrophic flood.
The remarkably successful Mars Pathfinder spacecraft, part of NASA's Discovery program of fast track, low-cost missions with highly focused science objectives, was the first spacecraft to explore Mars in more than 20 years. In all, during its three months of operations, the mission returned about 2.6 gigabits of data, which included more than 16,000 images of the Martian landscape from the lander camera, 550 images from the rover and about 8.5 million temperature, pressure and wind measurements.
The rover traveled a total of about 100 meters (328 feet) in 230 commanded maneuvers, performed more than 16 chemical analyses of rocks and soil, carried out soil mechanics and technology experiments, and explored about 250 square meters (820 square feet) of the Martian surface. The flight team lost communication with the lander on Sept. 27, after 83 days of daily commanding and data return. In all, the lander operated nearly three times its design lifetime of 30 days, and the small, 10.5 kilogram (23- pound) rover operated 12 times its design lifetime of seven days.

This block is going to a Guide Dog Fundraiser quilt.
The organisation is called Pathfinders. Each block has one letter from the name. Mine is obviously E.
I still need to add a heart ,as the quilt blocks are being made and donated by the Chain of Hearts group. That will go in the bottom left corner.
ps I made the rolled ribbon roses myself, following directions I found on one of SharonBs Squidoo links!! These have had me stumped up until now.
PATHFINDER focuses on the subject of social identity. It criticizes the unconscious way of handling the facts, related to consumption and gives solutions to face the dilemmas inside a multi supply environment. The “zero-spaces”, replace ground plans, where the viewer is asked to form his own path on an architectural like pattern. Zero symbolizes vain feelings or even the consumer loss, inside a world of undefined needs and fake desires. A series of four different postcard like patterns, give the opportunity to each one to contribute on the creation of the artwork and appreciate it as an interactive and open process that its aim concerns more people than the artistic community.

Some lineside photographers dislike the use of headboards on locos operating railtours. What they made of Pathfinder's attempt to not only attach a headboard but also a steward to 50031 Hood remains a mystery!
