Dr Henry (Indiana) Jones, the ultimate pathfinder locates the greatest prize of archeology, the Holy Grail, but naturally there are other interested parties! I set this up on my table top using an A4 card bent to resemble a cave. The nuts, I thought resembled boulders and the grail is from a set of two wooden goblets from a charity shop. Lighting was window light which required 2 seconds for my chosen ISO 100.

The most experienced cows are known as pathfinders. They are responsible for taking the herd to the most beneficial area for grazing and water.
If you see a lone buffalo bull, it is probably a “dagga boy”. Dagga boys are older bulls who have past their prime and have separated from their heard. They generally spend their days wallowing in mud either alone or with other dagga boys.
Buffalo cows have their first calves at age 4 or 5 and they become completely reliant on their mothers, right up until a year old.
If a buffalo herd comes under threat from a predator they form a circle around their young. All of the adults face outwards in an effort to hide the vulnerable. The adults actually lower their heads and form a protective barrier with their horns.

We just missed out on the light we were hoping for here, but I was still quite pleased with the overall result.
Meet my courageous friend Ottó, standing on to that rock with that light to give us something interesting to photograph. What's more interesting though, is that shortly after this photo was taken, there were a couple of earthquakes happening almost directly below us, the biggest 4.3 Richter. Lava injections underneath have been verified recently, as this area is sitting on a fault line that's been active in the past few weeks, and many are expecting an eruption literally any minute now. We didn't feel the quakes as we were driving along the Reykjanes peninsula coastlline that night, but after reading about the quakes in the news (on our phones) we decided it might be a good time to get the f*** back home ASAP.

Not quite the classic flying wedge because they are setting up to splash down in the pond. I have no idea how geese decide where to go and how to get there but it's my guess that it has something to do with the tip of the wedge.

What other characteristic could describe better a human being that curiosity? Since we are born we start exploring everything that surrounds us: first trying to taste everything we can grasp, afterwards just walking in every possible direction without thinking on the risks… Even as adults we try to conquer new places, stepping on the moon or exploring Mars. And this has been like this since our species appeared. (Continue reading)

I had some help with this one. Someone did go up to the roof and help me take this. Not very high so I used a wide angle lens for this. And then I did change the landscape a bit in postproduction. It doesn´t look exactly as I imagined but pretty close anyway.
66720 'Metronet Pathfinder' at Barby Nortoft working 4L22 Hams Hall-Felixstowe. on the 3rd of April 2008. Yes, backlit, but this working, which was always a colourful and well loaded train, now takes a different route, and even if it did return via the Northampton loop, this particular spot has well and truly changed, and the southbound pretty much written off now due to tree growth.
