These fantastic roots can be found at the beaches of the Arrow Lakes in B.C. The Columbia river was dammed in 1968 and the land was logged and flooded, With the fluctuating water levels throughout the year the roots remnants of the past submerge or resurface

Decided to create this group shot for fun with our sweet Max in it too! A canvas for the wall i think! :)
Didn't get out to shoot much this fall. We had several weeks of drought at the end of summer, and the colors did not seem very vibrant this year. When i finally did venture out most of the leaves were already on the ground.
Hard to believe this piece of farm equipment was high tech in its day. This shot was taken in Washington State

Thanks to Derbyshire limestone the last remains of a once busy mainline and junction survive, running on what was once the Manchester to St.Pancras Midland Main Line, 66197 passes through the short Peak Forest Junction Tunnel, the Midland line continued straight ahead towards me with the class 66 taking the now only remaining curve towards Buxton.

Past which blue moon
Will grow in this field
A stalk
And scatter in the wind
The moans of the earth?

When I took this shot, I just wanted to get a good shot of a buffalo’s eye. Little did I know that the reflection of the Great plains of South Dakota in it would provide so much deep, personal meaning to me. Herds that once numbered in the millions now number in the thousands’, so few that the Custer herd is utilized heavily to distribute healthy DNA to other herds around the world.
The buffalo hunt scene in the movie Dances with wolves was filmed in South Dakota not too far away on a private buffalo ranch. Knowing that historically that tradition occurred hundreds of times on where I and this fellow now stand both thrills and saddens.
Taken at Custer State Park on 19 May, 2023.
