Three or four flights of stairs later, the teams security officer discovers a terminal and something else nearby. It was a virtual intelligence that seemed largely intact but wasn't making any sense. The team began asking questions about the probe and its location but the VI had no memory about it.
Then they asked about the situation of the planet and what happened. Destruction took place but nothing was clear what caused it. The VI then confirmed that the long running arch nemesis of the team had indeed passed through the city and the building. What he was looking for wasn't confirmed however.
The VI then welcomed the commander back, as Koga had suggested about entering a certain protocol, it seemed the passcode wasn't necessary. But it failed and security was activated. The team dash. First to the top floor to recover the beacon.

This past Sunday, I got in a car (VERY early in the morning >.<) and I drove to a small port on the west coast of Italy about an hour and a half away from Florence, and man. I cannot even describe how amazing it was. The port was tiny, and there were maybe two hundred plus people walking around-it was little. The port was gorgeous, and we walked in the hills surrounding the little town in the morning, then had indubitably the best pesto I've ever tasted at a resturant on the pier. The weather was perfect, and everone was CALM for once. I haven't had a lot of days in Italy that have just been completely relaxing, with no stress or fighting between various people, but this day was just serene. After lunch, we took a boat to an even smaller beach up the coast, played in freezing water, and attempted to skip rocks. After we took the boat back, we piled into the car again and drove to the Cinque Terre, which are five towns on the coast that are said to be some of the most naturally beautiful places in Italy. Of course the sea and the mountains were beautiful, but the thing that really hit me was something man-made; something called the Via dell'amore, or the road of love. It's a path built on the side of the mountain (hill?) that meets the sea that travels through all five towns of the Cinque Terre. Unfortunately because it was late we didn't get to walk the whole thing, but we did most of it and watched the sunset. It was really incredible to walk this path and think about all the people who had walked it before me with the person they loved more than anyone in the world. I could really feel God there. It was a magical place, without a doubt.
But the last thing about this day that amazed me was something called Locks of Love. In America most people would think about the organization that collects hair to make wigs for cancer patients, but this is something different. All along the path, along the fences, wiring, and anywhere there was space hung thousands of locks. The idea is that couples buy a lock, don't read the passcode, then lock it into place somewhere along the path, and their love is locked there. This idea is AWESOME. I really, really loved seeing all of the locks or makeshift items (hairties, rubber bands, Hanna and I used silly bandz because we're typical Americans) along the path that were a testament to someone's love. Even for those couples whose relationship didn't survive, the fact that they once knew each other and once loved each other will always be there.
I dunno, it was just cool.
The whole day was just amazing, and there's a gigantic upload tonight from it. d: Sorry! And also, because I'm a crazy fangirl, don't you dare go anywhere without listening to this.

The lion is believed to have mystical powers. The first lion-dancing costumes were created using "the five colors": black, green, red, white, and yellow. By this means, the dancing lion was said to control the five cardinal directions: north, east, south, west, and center, respectively. Today, the lion costumes come in all colors, but traditionally there were three, each one representing one of the three famous Chinese Generals: Liu Pei, Kwan Kung and Chang Fei.
Yellow or multi-colored lions represent General Liu Pei. This lion has a long white beard and is the oldest and the wisest of the three. The yellow face shows general Liu Pei's intelligence, bravery and kindness. The red lion with its black beard represents the famous Chinese general and leader Kwan Kung and the bravery and the righteousness for which he is known. The red faced lion also represents happiness, good luck and prosperity.
The black lion is the youngest of the three and represents General Chang Fei. The black lion appears much more fierce than the other two. He has a short black beard, which is meant to highlight his youthfulness and combative nature and represents General Chang Fei's bravery and strength. Also known as the fighting lion, he is very aggressive and strong. His movements are quick, sharp, energetic and always aggressive.

There's another reason lion dancers are generally martial artists. Lion dancing gained its greatest fame during the Ching Dynasty. The Manchu reign at that time was an oppressive, inhumane government. Thousands of Chinese were massacres without any known cause until, it is said, "their blood literally reddened the rivers." Ming loyalists attempting to foment rebellion against the Manchu warlords, expressed their hatred by inventing the green-faced lion. With brows made of twin steel swords, each measuring 1 foot 6 inches in length, the green lion represented the Manchu Government during the Ching Dynasty. Fighting the lion meant combating the Manchus.
Since lion dancing was performed in villages all over the country for the purpose of celebrations, the rebels would use the opportunity to exchange information and to collect money for the revolution. As part of the dance, the lion would eat lettuce — which is where the money would be hidden. The lead dancer would cry, "Choi ching!" ("get the Ching!") to signal that he was a fellow revolutionary and, therefore, it was safe to pass information to him. However, informers soon figured out the battlecry. So, since chiang (meaning "green") sounds very much like ching, the revolutionary passcode was changed to "Choi chiang!" ("get the green"). To this day, this revolutionary cry is used when the lion "eats" the symbolic lettuce and good luck money."

Ming loyalists attempting to foment rebellion against the Manchu warlords, expressed their hatred by inventing the green-faced lion. With brows made of twin steel swords, each measuring 1 foot 6 inches in length, the green lion represented the Manchu Government during the Ching Dynasty. Fighting the lion meant combating the Manchus.
Since lion dancing was performed in villages all over the country for the purpose of celebrations, the rebels would use the opportunity to exchange information and to collect money for the revolution. As part of the dance, the lion would eat lettuce — which is where the money would be hidden. The lead dancer would cry, "Choi ching!" ("get the Ching!") to signal that he was a fellow revolutionary and, therefore, it was safe to pass information to him. However, informers soon figured out the battlecry. So, since chiang (meaning "green") sounds very much like ching, the revolutionary passcode was changed to "Choi chiang!" ("get the green"). To this day, this revolutionary cry is used when the lion "eats" the symbolic lettuce and good luck money."

The cottages can be opened with a passcode that is issued to you at the beginning of the trip. This was the cottage I stayed at. Even though it was a distinctive green, I was still caught once trying to enter the neighboring cottage (and wondering why my keycode didn’t work).
At the end of the trip, I borrowed the cheap video tripod we were using to record the sessions and tried to mount my camera on it to do some night photography.
It was also an opportunity to test out some new HDR processing software. It recovered a lot of detail in this image because the dynamic range here was very wide.
