Although her voice had thinned and faded, her mesmerizing stage presence was commanding, and her istrionic abilities unmatched.

 

She did never ever performed any operatic role again. Then, in the early 1970s, upon her former colleague and friend, tenor Giuseppe (Pippo) Di Stefano's proposal, she embarked with him on a series of fundraising farewell tours in Japan, the U.S.A. and Europe ...

Feb 2007 - Opéra de Paris or Opéra Garnier or Grand Opera House, Paris. the opera house was officially named the Académie Nationale de Musique - Théâtre de l'Opéra. It retained this title until 1978 when it was re-named the Théâtre National de l'Opéra de Paris.
