Last time I was here, near the Opera, I was twelve. I remember emerging out of the metro on to bustling streets on a warm summer night, my dad pointing out literary types reading books in a cafe, and the unexpected brightness of the ornate floodlit building. It hasn't changed much.

Paris Opera Bastille, July Revolution 1830 Monument. That's the moon a few nights before the Super Moon. The other nights it was overcast and we didn't see a thing. But this night it was spectacular!
