When I walked by her booth she said "How are you feeling, would you like some free condoms?" I smiled and laughed and said "I feel like I am hanging with my nine year old son tonight."

N. --- I'm so bummed. I was really excited about meeting Ryan & Christie's daughter at the shoot today but I guess that's not happening anymore.
K. --- Maybe next time.
N. --- Kids are definitely in my future. At least one of each. A boy, a girl...
K. --- I think I've narrowed down the motorcycle I want.
N. --- What?
K. --- Remember I told you I was thinking about getting one.
N. --- How come every time I bring up kids you change the subject?
K. --- I just saw the perfect bike on this site... what?
N., --- Is this some type of quarter-life crisis or something? I'm not talking about having kids right now. Do you really not want kids... ever?
K. --- No... In all honesty, I really don't want kids. I know I'm young and all but I just don't see kids in my future.
N. --- Well... I know that I do.
K. --- Okay... so... Now what?
N. --- Yeah... Now what?

Parenting is a process of constantly understanding oneself whilst putting the duties aside and concurrently keeping track of reality.

Gripe water is an over-the-counter solution which can help upset babies burp out painful gas. As with most natural approaches, scientific evidence of its usefulness is lacking but its unmistakable effectiveness in bringing relief to Oscar makes it an important household item.
Sasha picked up this bottle of gripe water to prepare for this morning's excursion with little Oscar - now 7 weeks old. I asked for a quick photo to record what is a typical moment these days: "Where is the gripe water?"

One of my favorite shows starts back tonight. Amanda and I both really like Parenthood.
Don't judge me.
These are busy parents, following their three little cygnets as they explore the wetlands. The two other youngsters were nearby but didn't seem to want to be in the one perfect family pic this evening. (Few minutes before sundown).

We're both tinged with silver facial hair/fur!
Jason and I are feeding the cubs warmed Pedialyte and Esbilac every few hours. We also have to "stimulate" them gently with a wet q-tip before and after feeding so they urinate; if not, their little bladders may rupture. Finally we have to wipe the formula off their little faces before it hardens and causes loss of fur. Who new? And I bet Jason never thought his trip to the U.S.A. would involve playing wet-nurse to four baby woodchucks!
