TARAgram Orchha handmade paper recycling unit is an enterprise based on sustainable “waste to wealth” technology employing more than forty villagers, mainly including Sahraiya tribal women who previously had no source of income. All the paper is made from recycled clothing and wood pulp.

Studio Workspace Resident Trudy Barnes finds inspiration from everyday objects in her environment.

So after ripping the paper into shreds and liquifying it in the blender! (after soaking in water a couple minutes), you use a deckle (the thing he's holding) to get your paper pulp. You choose the thickness of the paper here. You swish it around in the pulp and pull up evenly to make a uniform thickness.

Book artist and papermaker Mandy Brannan joined us once again to show us the creative possibilities of combining two papermaking techniques; traditional style Japanese papermaking and recycled papermaking.
