The Mr. skipped town this morning, and took with him the iPad, a fact I am not in the slightest bitter about. Not in the slightest. The man's job, after all, is to work with mobile devices. Still, even though I'd been doing my nightly crossword puzzle on paper for the sixteen years prior to the introduction of the iPad to our home, it felt a bit strange to sit down with paper and ink again.
The first real Japanese origami paper, made only for us, origamists. It gots lovely texture and unique colors, but how good is it when folded? Read all about it in The Fold:

I'm helping to teach in an English Language program at a local charity, and we do a craft project weekly. It helps our students (local women) practice their English skills while doing something creative. We've done quite a few mosaic projects using pictures and words cut from magazines.
This one is a greeting card that seems to represent my philosophy of life :) I think I'll start making more home-made greeting cards instead of spending $$$ on preprinted cards that get thrown out a few days after the event!

Okay, so I took this www.flickr.com/photos/lorenzomarchi/245975608/ as a challenge; I couldn't help myself. From a 32 grid folded from a 3cm paper, making the pleats .9375mm
The concept behind this model is very simple, the humble waterbomb. But the trick is in the distribution of the waterbombs to obtain this shape. In the end it closes and locks perfectly.
Wonderful model, Fujimoto rocks!
Brick-Life has a project in mind and we were discussing some issues that reminded me of these polypouches, so I decided to fold them all. They are basically the same shape but some are wider and shorter while others are thinner and taller. Folded over the printed CP on squares of copy paper.
Another element for my swap partner - what do you think partner should I go with it? Pattern available here: www.forestquilting.com/masterlistfree.html
simple pattern I found when I played with small square... intermediate stages are quite interesting too

Page from a California wild flower identification book that I cut up for collage use. Tea-stain and paint added.
Feel free to use this in all your work, just don't redistribute or sell the original as your own product! T4L-agree.
Since Colin has recently decided that T-Rex is his favorite dinosaur, I dug deep in to the memory banks to make him this during craft time.

A lot easier than I thought at first. Folded from a 20 x 20 cm square of coffee filter paper.
36" (91.4 cm) square of MC 33 gsm Kitakata gampi.
Folded from diagram in Tanteidan Convention Book Vol. 17. Also available in Origami School of Masters, available here.
I've wanted to fold this model for a long time, but was really for waiting for dry autumn weather. The paper softening effect of high summer humidity really doesn't help in trying to fold things like this.
By far the most time I've spent folding a single model so far. Pre-creasing a 96x96 grid and the additional creases in the cp is rather tedious. Yet the model itself is not very difficult to fold, there's just a lot to it which means it takes a long time.
