This is for the way sunlight falls in the afternoon.

A dragonfly made of magazine paper. (Inspired by a broad-bodied chaser)

I've had Ayumi's super cute pattern since it first went on sale, but just found some time to make one. Those patterns are just so adorable!! Hope you like it Ayumi :)

You can find the pattern here:

Read more about how I folded this on my website.

I was out having lunch with my wife on this day and had my camera with me. I happened into the bathroom of the restaurant and this composition just called out to be captured.

I guess Chris Palmer must have done this "detail" for the center of his model, but being the creative genius he is, he used a different one as it can be seen in the original model. I think the basic pursing suits this model very well.

Folded from a square of 30 x 30 cm of Curious brand paper. I had to fold another one because the previous models was starting to tear.

Its my birthday so to mark the occasion I am launching a new competition :)

Model by Thoki Yenn, folded by me on an A4 sheet of printer paper.

A model I learned during the recent Origami Colombia 2012 convention, folded from 6 rectangles of A proportion cut off from 15 x 15 cm squares of Curious brand paper.

Paper types and colors for every occasion, event, and printing need

Soms is het zo simpel. Je haalt een doos met papier uit de kast ziet nog wat andere rommeltjes liggen in een bakje. En is weer één.

Folded from a square of 25 cm on the side of kami I had in my stash

Folded from a square of Stardream of 70 cm on the side, that's 3.675 cm2 more paper than what I used for the 3 level one, but that's not uncommon for these fractal models.

This model had been done by Chris Palmer and is shown in the cover of his book "Shadow Folds" and was folded excellently by Origamigo in tessellation arrangements.

I think it looks similar to Evi's model here .

Trying to take a photo of something so complex as a wasp nest can often lead to the whole "losing the forest to see the trees" situation. You get so wrapped up in shooting a detail shot that the rest of the image fails to compose.

I don't think I crossed that line too much here, but I do find it odd that I somehow got such a black background when shooting in sunlight.

Yesterday during a meeting of our local group I was teaching this model to Laura and she came up with this way of finishing it.

An excellent model. Thank you Andrew for having created, diagrammed and shared it.

Folded from a square of curious paper of 30 cm on the side.

Playing with colorful paper sheets...

A model I've wanted to fold since I first saw it, but couldn't figure it out on my own. Folded over the CP printed on a square of 20 x 20 cm of Artpaper.

Thank you John for having uploaded the CP.

When I folded the basic version one year ago, the photo made it into Explore!, let's see how well this one does.

Medium: 21x21 cm^2 elephant hide

It's been a while since I've actually uploaded something!

I'm currently in the last year of college and busy with stuff like job-hunting, so I won't have much time to do origami design in the near future unfortunately. I chose a stingray design because I thought a ray design would be simple to do and I wanted to experiment with something - as always, the design process isn't as simple as it appears.

For this stingray design, I wanted to get the ripples on the large pectoral fins to simulate movement and liveliness as it trawls along the seabed searching for food. I thought Elephant Hide was the best paper to achieve this effect, but I was worried about thickness at the same time.

Thankfully, working with elephant hide for this design was not as bad as I was expecting. Shaping the fins was a test of recalcitrance, but I believe it to be a challenge of the model rather than that of the paper.

Here is the underside of the model. People tend to see a "face" where the nostrils are the eyes and the mouth is... the mouth. Gills are unfortunately a bit hard to see but they're there.

Recently, I've got an idea of minimalistic decoration light. Small LED diffused light source can be placed inside the pipe, made of paper or mylar, with some drawing or pattern on its sides. Here is the first prototype of diffuser with black leafless tree.

This is a selected frame from the first portraiture sitting of 2017 in my New York studio. It was shot on an 8x10 paper negative (Ilford rated 3ASA) with a Deardorff camera fitted with a Jena 50cm Tessar lens with its large and heavy front element unscrewed by several turns, to obtain the soft focus-like glowing highlight. The lighting is "open flash" 1 second -circa- esposure time, with two Speedotron Strobe heads at 1200 Watts per second. Beautiful and talented Ella is the subject of this portrait.

Folded from diagram in Works of Satoshi Kamiya 2.

Another difficult to shape model. Cerberus supposedly has a snake for a tail, so that's what I gave it. I would have liked to give the snake's head a lower jaw, but that would have made the tail rather stumpy, so I decided against it.

I decided to make a short story from photos about the day in the life of a paper bag head.

Just documenting a new find for me. I've lived in Louisiana for most of my life, but I've never noticed this tree before. I shot this back in May, but I returned a day or so ago and took a few of the mature fruit to show you. I'll post them later today when I've had time to process them.

My dad taught me how to make these when I was just a kid. I don't know why I still remember how.
