Usually when Jackstones are photographed, the "top" point is shown since it is made of the middle part of the paper and usually looks nicer and the "bottom" part which is made of several flaps is left hidden in the back. I like how the "bottom" part looks on this one.
This is a different Jackstone than the one in the previous photo. This one was folded from a pentagon cut from a square of 30 cm on the side of "Iris" paper, which is similar to copy paper, only thinner and a bit smoother.
i made two paper airplanes for my partner for the "Ultimate Year of Happy Mail #66 Paper Airplane" swap
The original model is very nice but it gets thick and difficult to work on in some places, so I decided to modify it. Instead of using the reference "point to center" I used "middle of the side to center" then I did that weaving made popular by Tomoko Fuse and more recently by Peter Keller and I got this.
Folded from a square of 30 cm on the side of some gift wrapping paper.
This is part of an old dust jacket from a book.

Spotted this large metricus paper wasp inspecting some leaves by the side of a trail in Travis County Southeast Metro Park.
First order from origami-shop. I was very excited. Great looking sheets :)))
And Nicolas added a Parrot diagram!

Designed on the same day as the memorial star, constructed from the same base. I might be a cp to verify originality.

Folded from this video by Evan Zodl out of 10 A proportioned rectangles of 10 cm on the long side of some nice shiny paper.

Once you understand how this system works, you can play around with it and make this other configuration of stars.
Folded from a square of 20 cm on the side of "Casa de Papel" paper.
Using Ale Beber's technique for the KNB Star, similar to some of the works of O'Sorigami.
My new book. :)
The book quality is as same as my previous book (Paper & Form).
About this book:
Hardcovered and 188 colored pages.
Language: English and Hungarian.
Product dimensions: 21 cm x 30 cm.
27 models with step-by-step computer diagrams. Moreover 17 additional new models you can fold from this book with a little experience. (And there are some other photos from the variations of the models.)
I think most models of them are perfect in two-dimensional version, but of course, they will be better if you shape them to 3D.
All models are made from one uncut square.
You can see the photos of the models, which you could fold from this book here:

I wish you enjoyable folding!... :)
what are these called? I made them for the boys anyway and they had great fun colouring them in and writing messages underneath
1658. 5/15 "Focus"
Whether you choose to use razor sharp camera focus or share your dog's focus on some particular object, the topic of the day is focus.
After my husband went food shopping this morning, Spanky's main focus was to destroy the paper towels. He picked them up and ran out the back door so he could have the pleasure of destroying them in the back yard.
made from paper strips bought from paper frog (white are solid, colored are transparent,

Designed and folded by Gen Hagiwara
From 20cm uncut square paper painted with red acrylic paint on one side.
Diagram available in Tanteidan Convention Book Vol.19.
All the drama in the Paper Observatory is supposed to be above, and yet... I keep coming back to the mute procession of origami mannequins who walk in a slow circle about the landing point: distant, aloof, and somehow seeming quite vested with importance.
I guess it's just one of those things.
Folded from the CP out of a hexagon cutt off from a 20 cm on the side square of curry Elephant Hide.
The CP doesn't show the closure which is obtained using a point splitting technique.
On my wander about London, I came across a shop with origami cranes hanging from the ceiling. Being a fan of origami myself, I went in and asked if I could take a photograph. All of the cranes were made with different patterned paper.
I cannot remember the name of the shop, but I think it was around Notting Hill somewhere.
