Week 51/52, 2015

This week’s theme for my 52 project is “Panning.” I’ve only tried panning a couple times before. My results haven’t been that good, but I gave it another try. I went home thinking I had nothing usable, but I did find a few shots that were OK. These are by no means great panning shots, but they’re better than past ones that I’ve done. This is my choice for my project.

El pan es excepcional y viene en una tabla junto a mantequilla con pimienta (textura de pomada; genial!), confitura de tomate y aceite de oliva, que permanecen en la mesa durante toda la comida. La idea es muy buena pero esa tabla es un poco engorrosa: las cazuelitas donde están la mantequilla y el tomate oscilan de forma irritante cada vez que uno mete la cuchara o el cuchillo y el espacio en la tabla queda muy limitado para dejar los cubiertos del servicio (a nosotros se nos cayeron un par de veces sobre el mantel). Nos pareció poco práctica y preferimos un formato mucho más plano y sencillo para la mantequilla, tomate, aceite y pan, y que éste último se reponga conforme se va consumiendo.

A dose of the man flu and poorly settled baby the night before meant that I limited my driving to 30 minutes. Bolivar salt pans is home to very shallow waters which means that there is almost always going to be good reflections. The dawn wasn't as striking as I have seen when driving by for other non photographic reasons but still striking for moments.
