Last Monday night, Team Africa had fun packing the supplies they need
for their ministry in Kenya and Uganda. They will be at the Eastern
Iowa (Cedar Rapids) Airport at 11 AM this coming Sunday, November 5, to
begin their journey. They will fly to Minneapolis/St. Paul, then
Amsterdam, and will finally arrive in Nairobi, Kenya, at 8:20 PM on
Monday, November 6. They will begin their return journey on Saturday,
November 18, and are scheduled to arrive back here in Cedar Rapids at
4:20 PM on Sunday, November 19.
I will post any updates about the team as I get them, so check this blog
in the coming days.
Here are some final prayer requests from the team as they prepare to
leave:
1. Final details in leaving - work and family as well as team
preparations
2. Health and Safety for all
3. Favor at the airport
4. Unity and Spirit-led ministry as a team
5. Appropriate sleep on the flight as well as making all of our
connections.
6. Open to any God-encounters on our way to Africa
PACKING THE HALLS - Hundreds of students received school supplies at the Decatur Church of Christ's Gear Up event Sunday. In addition to backpacks with basic school supplies, kids also received a hot dog supper, haircuts, children's books, clothes and non-perishable food. Students could also receive immunizations. I'm moving from Iowa to Shawano Wi to a new job. I will try to get back on the internet as soon as I figure out what provider to use. I will miss not being able to check up on my flickr friends and will probably work at getting a provider as soon as possible.
My Bride left this set of pajamas for visits.
I forgot they were here. I had an odd emotional response seeing them. I was sad that she hadn't been back to visit and use them, but that's because I'm moving home so much sooner than we thought in January which makes me very happy.

I've never known a better landing field/packing area for facilities; a wind-breaker wall, smooth clean flat packing area and you can rest the other kit on the wall to save bending. Also, there was a smooth, gentle concrete slope for the walk back up - luxury!
Getting ready for a cruise with my family. I'm excited as I've never been on a cruise before. I expect to come back 30 pounds heavier than when I left.
As for the cruise's impact on my Project 365: I'll take photos everyday, but I won't be uploading them until I return. It breaks with tradition, but I'm not going to pay a dollar per minute internet fees to get them up everyday. I'm sticking with the spirit of the project by taking a photo everyday while I'm gone.
