Spring means VACATION for us this year. We are leaving for the airport in 1 hour. Here you see the bed yesterday when I was in the thick of the packing frenzy. Those who know me will notice the packing cubes I am so fond of. We are off to Istanbul tonight! Happy Photo Friday, all. How about next week we do Best Travel Photography!!

Documentation of us slowly and laboriously packing of all our stuff in boxes (minus the gazillion bags of things that have gone to Goodwill or the trash), followed by the professional movers' much more efficient loading of our things out of the condo and into an LA-bound truck! I should have been packing last Thursday night but it didn't happen because I was so incredibly tired. That seems to be a recurring theme lately- I think I'm overextended. At some point, something's got to give.
Ironically, the thing I overpacked the most on this trip was shoes. I did all right with the amount of clothing, but the shoes really pushed the weight limit Southwest sets for baggage. I have to start learning how to leave some of my baggage behind and travel lighter. Ha, well isn't that a swell euphemism... kind of tripped and fell right into that one.

I felt that going to Japan required me to have Japanese yarn, so I packed some Noro for the trip. Will likely try to buy more while I'm here. Might need Stephen & Skye's help for that.

We spent the evening getting the house ready for the painter. Much furniture needed to be moved. Things on shelves and in cabinets needed to be boxed. More things rearranged to accomodate our living with the work being done.
