Pacific Wren at Barber Park, Boise, Idaho
"Pacific Wrens quickly hop through the understory moving more like a mouse than a bird as they investigate upturned roots and decaying logs for food. These energetic birds often bob their heads or entire bodies when they are standing still. In flight they rapidly beat their tiny wings to move short distances between cover."
Looking south towards Seal Point at the end of the Kaikoura peninsula. The walk along the cliffs gave some fabulous views to the intriguing beach scape below.

Somewhere along the Lighthouse Loop trail one of the many views you get overlooking the Broken Group Islands.
Eglwys Nunydd Reservoir , Margam, Glamorgan. Bird has been around a week though I was put off from going initially by reports of birders being kicked off site and having to view from across the M4 motorway. There were a trickle of photos coming out which contradicted this and when a friend went the day before without problem i gave it a go, arriving pre dawn to try and evade security. Got off to a bad start when i was met by security on the track in, but they just asked if i wanted to come in through the gate ! (seems they are only kicking people out when there is sailing typically at weekends). So i did, went up to the res and there was the bird right in front of me. Light wasnt great but for the next 90 minutes it showed at point blank range. A very rare vagrant visitor with 9 previous records in Britain, a bit smaller than a GND and closely related to the BTD.

The Pacific coast along the Pan-American Highway (southern Peru) 20221120
Peru Highway 1, most widely known as Carretera Panamericana, is the most important highway in Peru.
This road is the Peruvian portion of the Pan-American Highway. It runs north–south through the whole length of the country and connects all major cities in the country's coastal area.
The northern terminus of the highway is located in the Macará International Bridge (Piura Region) at the border with Ecuador. Starting in this point, the highway is known as Carretera Panamericana Norte ("North Pan-American Highway") until it reaches a point located in central Lima, the country's capital.
Going south from this point, the highway is called Carretera Panamericana Sur ("South Pan-American Highway"), until it reaches the southern terminus, located in the Santa Rosa Border Post, in the Tacna Region at the border with Chile.

Today's theme is the Pacific Ocean as we see and experience it where I live. Here, on Lighthouse Beach we see Watonga Rocks in the foreground with North Brother Mountain in the distance.

The Cascade and Coastal Mountains offer unsurpassed natural beauty in the Pacific Northwest especially in the evening hours when the mountains and hills are tucked in for the night with a soft blanket of haze. All that's missing is a lullaby.
340) Pacific Reef Egret
Pacific Reef Egret, Egretta sacra, Bangau Batu
This species can be found in many areas of Asia including the oceanic region of India, Southeast Asia, East Asia, Polynesia, and in Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand. The species displays an unusual, non-sexual dimorphism, with some members having entirely white plumage and others (the larger portion) being charcoal-grey. The reason for the colour variation or "morph", is unknown, though it is most commonly thought to be related to camouflage. Their food sources are made up predominantly of varieties of ocean-based fish, crustaceans and molluscs.
