Kathmandu is great for street photography and there is something worthy of a photograph happening at every corner. While on a walking tour through the center of the city I came across this girl sitting on the steps of her house, taking care of her younger sister. I did take a few shots of both of them together, but then I asked her if I could take a picture of just her. She happily agreed and put on this very proud face while I was shooting away. I quite like the result…

My teams' jerseys... well, some of them anyway. Left to right, Chicago White Sox (home jersey, Chicago Bears (home Brian Urlacher jersey), St. Louis Cardinals (home 2006 World Series champion jersey), and two versions of the Chicago Blackhawks (white away sweater and red, home, Marian Hossa authentic sweater).
Though I'm a HUGE fan, I don't own a Chicago Bulls jersey (because you don't want to see me in a tank top, trust me); and hidden around my Cardinals jersey are my maroon, home Chicago Wolves minor league hockey sweater and my red St. Louis Cardinals batting practice jersey from probably 2004.
Side note: All of these teams have won championships in my lifetime.
White Sox: 2005 World Series
Bears: 1986 Super Bowl
Cardinals: 1982, 2006, and 2011 World Series
Blackhawks: 2010 and 2013 Stanley Cup
(Bulls: 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, and 1998 NBA Champions)
(Wolves: 1998, 2000 Turner Cup in the IHL and 2002, 2008 Calder Cup in the AHL)
A pity I didn't get more of the baby in but this guy looked a picture wheeling his little one around proud as punch.

It was a honour for me when friend and fellow photographer Matt Stanton asked me to shoot his sisters newborn daughter Lily. Unfortunately Matt was snowed under with weddings, and with time against him, i was asked to step in and fulfill the duty! I must say it was a real pleasure and hopefully i've done Holly and her family proud.

Proud by Michael Healey
“Funny and foul-mouthed, yet surprisingly sweet.” Globe & Mail
“Dazzlingly witty, surgically precise and scathingly satirical.” Toronto Star
Award-winning playwright Michael Healey (The Drawer Boy) takes on his biggest subject yet: The Right Honourable Stephen Harper. His sexy, cheeky and surprising play will have you rolling in the aisles – regardless of your politics. You may even find yourself liking the man! Proud imagines a different outcome to the last Federal election – the Tories took Quebec and won a huge majority. A young, attractive and very inexperienced MP provides the Prime Minister with a new tool in his arsenal. Unfortunately for him – she may be the smartest man in the room!

Gorilla and her 1 1/2 month old baby taken at the Bronx Zoo in New York! I took my nieces to the Bronx Zoo yesterday and was surprised to see this gorilla mom and her tiny baby! The mother was so sweet and at one point came up to the window and showed everyone her baby! I think she was proud of her newborn and wanted everyone to see! It really was the sweetest thing!
After nesting for five weeks, our local pair of Mute Swans @ Hesketh Park are now the proud parents of six, super- sweetie-pie cygnets.
(Last year they had five -- four of which made it to adulthood)
6 babies for Cleo & Harley. Another was born at almost 3:00 a.m. but it was not alive. All other babies and mama are doing well.

There’s nothing like a lively meatball hunt first thing in the morning! And Valerio was up to the task, even if it meant getting soaked in the process.
He spotted his target, floating in the middle of the pool. He reached out, stretching as far as he could. His paw made contact with the disk, claws extended. But it suddenly slipped out of his grasp and flipped over, sending the meatball flying into the water. Without a moment’s hesitation, Valerio was on it, grabbed himself a mouthful of meatball, and came up from the water just as quick, proud of his accomplishment!
Valerio triumphs once again!

The lady is the construction manager, or in charge of the money and the man on the right is the foreman of this farm building. When I was walking past she was paying people people their wages, and it seemed they were going straight away to buy "strong" water, which is like 90% alcohol. They insisted I grab their image, and it was one of the most randomly humble moments that I have experienced. The lady changed into her best clothing, they removed all the workers from their image and I took this shot. Them she handed me 1000 shillings to get myself a coke. Once I had left I handed the money to a little kid, but I made sure I got a print of this image to them. I know its not the best photo, but its one that I really enjoyed taking!
