I saw this gentleman with his son and asked if I could take their photo - as you can see, he said yes. His son was great, I saw him in the Arena dancing.
Hard to believe, but this handsome bird is the daddy of "The Three Sopranos". He just got done feeding them, and is probably relieved that they are quiet -- for a moment. :)
The daddy cardinal is known to be very committed to feeding the babies, even if not his own. This past summer, I witnessed both in my backyard and at another park the male cardinal feeding some other bird. Guess he could not have known. Read the story below.
Cardinal nests are highly susceptible to cowbird nest parasitism, a process in which a female cowbird lays her eggs in the nest of another bird after dumping the eggs of the host bird over the side. The host, in this case a female cardinal, will then incubate and hatch the cowbird eggs and raise the cowbird fledglings.

Who could deny this beyond-adorable French child a mahogany dresser of her very own? No one, that's who.
I couldn't have more pride of my boys...
This picture was take in Ghana, when One Direction was there. They made an amazing work when they were in Africa, giving money and meeting the children. The videoclip "one way or another" show us some moments of their trip. And you can find lots of photos of them hugging the children and playing with them. I will always love and support you buys, you are beautiful boys with beautiful hearts.
Standing tall and proud.
In Dutch we say 'growing from pride' which basicly means that you grow from being proud about something. I had some help from Chichiboulie and LillyElla because I was not sure this would be said in the English language. Apparently it is nothing used in the English language like we use it in Dutch. However, LillyElla remembered this childhood story about a giraffe who's neck grew longer and longer to reach the leaves on the trees but with his neck growing, also grew his pride. He became too proud to eat the leaves off the ground. She doesn't remember the rest of the story but it must be the giraffe which is referred to as proud. If anyone knows which children's book this is, please do let me know, I would be happy to post a link to it here. Thanks ChichiBoulie & LillyElla for your help. :)
You wouldn't think by the beauty of this bird that she had recently had 4 babies that attack her every time she approaches the nest, it never ceases to amaze me, there such wonderful parents, thank you all for the visit and for the comments.
Our Cordilleran Flycatcher couple have at least 3 nestlings safely in their nest. It took 19 days to hatch their eggs due to the cold and rainy weather (it usually takes 14-15 days). Now the hard work of feeding them flies all day long commences!
